Tell us about your leagues!
Fantasy football season is just around the corner, but if you’re a serious fantasy football fan it has already started. And that’s what we’re looking for, serious players in serious leagues…or fun players in fun leagues. If you or someone you know plays fantasy football in an interesting league, for instance, everyone is a die-hard Chicago Bears fans; everyone lives, or has lived in Atlanta, GA; all your team names must include all the letters from Brett Favre’s name; or your team has played fantasy together since the 5th grade; like I said interesting. We’re looking to talk to you about your fantasy league, maybe even give you and your fun friends some exposure. Please post a comment or send a message with your Yahoo! username, and don’t forget to include why your league is so interesting. Thanks and can’t wait to hear from you.

Midseason Baseball with the experts…

Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Baseball

We didn’t get our blog leagues off the ground before the season started, but our experts are happy to take a few of you on in midseason leagues. If you’re interested in squaring off against the likes of Funston, Evans or Behrens, post a comment or send a message with your Yahoo! username. We’ll send out league invites in the next couple weeks. If we have enough folks interested, we’ll create up to three leagues. Let us know soon; midseason scoring begins June 16.

Some good news and some bad news...
The good news - you may have heard about how Yahoo! is working with newspapers across the country to get their content integrated into the site. Well, we at sports were all for that. And so now, you'll be able to see local news on your team pages, player pages, and in your team tracker module.

Team tracker module? Not enough of you are using our personalization feature. But once you let us know what your favorite teams are, we'll track those teams for you on our top page and league pages. And by track we mean - their scores come first on the mini-scoreboards on those pages; they come first in the scrolling ticker at the top of our home page; and there are little news modules (that now include local news for your teams) on the top/league pages as well.

Anyway, we hope you'll like getting a little of your local flavor on your favorite teams. We're enjoying it quite a bit ourselves and are looking forward to seeing the content grow and diversify over time.

Update: We think we've got the Flash issues licked. Let us know if you still are having issues.

Now, for the bad news...

If your MLB GameChannel or StatTracker isn't updating, we think we know the reason why. Adobe added additional security to the latest version of their Flash player (version 9.0.124.0 released April 8th) that doesn't allow us to connect to our servers in the way we're used to doing it.

We're working to find the right solution to their new security requirements, but it's going to take a few more days or so to jump through the hoops needed to get you your scores.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience, and even more sorry that the only work around we have is to follow these instructions to downgrade your Flash player back to version 9.0.115.0:

We know it's frustrating - and we share those feelings with you. We'll keep you posted on our status and will let you know when we make the adjustments needed to get MLB GameChannel and Stattracker compatible with Flash Player version 9.0.124.0.

Okay guys and gals, I messed up and we're real late on this league. Post a message here or send us a message with your Yahoo! username if you want to play in a blog league with Funston or Evans. We might have to draft a bit after the Japan games cause of this little oversight.

Real sorry - but the season is kind of long...

We've just launched our NCAA bracket game. I know, you're thinking that the teams aren't going to be picked until next month, so why the rush?

A few reasons:

We've introduced customized scoring, so you might need some time to tweak your pool in order to get it just right for your particular bracket style.

A new "popular picks" bracket - consider it the S&P of the NCAA Tourney. How will you stack up?

But the main reason is that we wanted to make sure you had enough time to plan out what you're going to be doing with the five million bucks we'll give you for your perfect bracket. We wouldn't want to give you all that money just to have you making some quick, foolish decisions.

So get to planning. After you register of course.

And just to make sure the whole tourney stays competitive, we're committed to giving away $10k to the best bracket (on the off chance that it's not a perfect bracket...)

So, go ahead, try and impress us with your hoops insight. Since I'm an employee, I'm not eligible (just working here is reward enough though), so you've got a chance at the money...

Good luck!
