This is just my blog. My full page is at http://www.watyer.com
Happy July!!! I'm glad June is over, I had too many meetings, and could barely keep my head above water. But now hopefully I'll be able to enjoy the summer a bit more. Sebastian is 16 months old today, I can't believe it has been that long already since he has been born. But he has become such a big boy already! The things he learns every day opens my eyes to life from a whole new viewpoint. (Like how much fun it is to do the 'sandy dance' on a freshly spread out towl on the beach).
I just hope that all of you who do or do not have kids will have time to stop and view life with fresh eyes from time to time... we all only have one life to live afterall :-)
Wow, I have not had time to blog recently. And why not you ask? Because, I have been having so much fun spending time with Sebastian! He is at such a wonderful age!!! :-) I love taking him everywhere! The park, the pool, the play place at the mall! The number of pictures I have been taking has dwindled because I spend much more time just playing with him. He is so cute :-) He loves playing in the fountains at the pool, or trying to bounce a ball, or chasing after squirrels, or picking up sticks and hitting just about anything with them (including Mommy!!).
I've been taking a few pictures here and there, mostly when Tim is along or when we go to visit family so there is someone else there with Seby to keep him safe while I'm taking the pics. they are up on the dropshots page as normal: http://dropshots.com/watyer
Work has been busy as normal, they've been training me to do the database administration, so I'm finally going to run the database at my first meeting by myself on June 26th. Hopefully all will go well, I've got my fingers crossed! I've certainly been going to just about every single meeting for the last year to practice and gain experience!!!
I have been procrastinating on my final Master's project, so Tim and I held off on buying a house until I finish that. I'm trying again to take a week off in July to finish that up. (Last time I tried that, something came up at work and I couldn't take the time off). So hopefully I'll get that written, and then we can get back into house searching. I'm kinda glad we decided at the last minute not to buy that house. It was just a weird inkling that we changed our minds, but it turns out that the market kept dropping, and now we can afford something even bigger, and we could rent our current place out for even more than we were ready to sign it away for!!
So good things come to those who wait :-)
Sebastian is growing in leaps and bounds, he is very tall for his age, almost as tall as some 20-24 month olds, in fact I already have him in24 month old shirts (many of the 18 month old shirts barely fit over his head). I'm trying to teach him to swim, and he's done a few glides already in to the steps. He'll voluntarily put his face into the water and proudly smile afterward. Sometimes he'll even blow bubbles while doing it... but usually he'll just make the bubble noise up in the air :-)
Tim has started doing auditing at work, he hopes they'll make him lead auditor. He's also part of a "process improvement" team. it's a lot of added work, but he hopes the added skills will make him more marketable in the job market, which will help while he continues to finish the degree. His new plan for the degree consisted of transferring all of his credits to Hood college, and then finishing up there instead of messing with Salem University anymore. Some didn't transfer so he'll have to take them over again, but hopefully there will be no more rigmarole about them changing their minds every time they get bought out about what the requirements are for him to graduate... So hopefully he'll be done around 2010, which used to seem like some strange date way in the future when cars would fly and robots would walk around and talk (I guess they do vaccuum floors.... I want one of them!) But is really only 1.5 years away now :-)
Things have been BUSY!!!
We might not end up buying the house. We aren't sure. Things are just so busy now with me trying to finish up my degree, and Tim taking classes, and us both working, and being parents, and everything. It seems like a great place though, so we might try to make it work, but if it doesn't work out it doesn't work out, and we aren't going to stress over it :-)
Sebastian is doing great, he's a total monkey. He hasn't taken his first independent steps yet, but he climbs into everything!! He already climbed out of his crib!!! (We had left some toys in there for him to play with and he climbed on top of them and climbed out) And climbed onto the rocking chair and almost tipped it over. He has 5 teeth now and more on their way. He is talking up a storm, it is just too bad we have no clue what he is saying :-)
We got our new camera, I just have to find time to take more pictures with it. I took a few though at least. Seby is good about smiling for the camera, as you can see here :-)
I am greatly looking forward to the summer, whether it finds us in a new home that needs tons of work, or still in our tiny condo with a couple of pools at which we can relax. Either way, the sun will be welcome!!!
We found our dream home in Brunswick, MD. If all goes well, we'll buy it and move in a few months. We already have someone set up to rent our old place starting in June.
There won't be too many pictures on here for a while, I lost yet another digital camera. The only thing I can figure is that it got knocked into the garbage can and taken out with the trash, because I didn't use it after downloading pictures two Friday's ago. :-( We'll try to take some pictures of Sebastian using our phone camera's but they aren't the best quality.
I just don't have good luck with cameras!!
P.S. If you want to see the home, it's MLS number is: FR6593531
It sits on over 1/4 of an acre of land, has three levels plus a finish-able attic, needs lots of work on the inside :-) Hopefully this link will go to it:

I can't believe that this much of January has already passed! I was sick for over 2 weeks of it, which really sucked!! Then we played catch up for a week, and then we just enjoyed a week :-) We finally painted our bathroom, I really like the color! But it is a little darker than I had intended, so now it makes the bathroom look much smaller. Oh well, it looks classy though, so that's good. People looking at this place aren't expecting any room to actually be big!!
Sebastian is getting into everything, as he is supposed to at this age. He's pulling up on everything (and everyone) and walking along the furniture. He'll reach, and grunt and reach and get to the next piece. I'm waiting for him to face plant, but it seems the one face plant on my mom's hardwood floor was enough for him to learn! I'm sure he could take a couple of steps and make it, but he'll do it when he's ready. He has long conversations, they don't make any sense to us, but they are complete with gestures and inflection to the words. I tried to get him to make more sounds or say letters, but he just comes back with Bladlaerbladlaerbladlaer (him sticking his tongue in and out while making noise).
He's trying to learn to use a spoon. Correction, he's learned to use a spoon, but he's learned to use it to flick food across the room, and smash it into his hair and dump it on the table so he can smash it all over. So he's trying to learn to use a spoon to actually get the food into his mouth. I'm going to have to just starve him one of these days so he's so hungry that that takes precidence over the playing thing.
He started waking up at night, which is annoying. I wish he'd keep it a bit more quiet when he does. He used to just go to sleep without making tons of noise, now he yells, and talks, and stuff, hoping we'll come play. But eventually he finally goes back to sleep. We refuse to give in and go check on him. We know he's not starving (he's starting to pack on the pounds and finally looks chubby :-) So hopefully this phase won't last much longer.
Not much more new news, I'm hoping to finish my first draft of my masters project in the next week, and then have only revisions to do. But that is only if I actually buckle down and get to it!! I've been procrastinating (although I do blame the lack of ink on Saturday! I was doing well until I ran out of ink!!
