I just read an article about the possible healing effects of prayer and, really, does this phenomenon make any sense?
The big sticking point for me is this: Does God not know that sick people are sick? And if the does (which we should assume, because He is omniscient), why would He heal sick people only if fundamentalist Christians pray for them?
Inquiring minds and such.

The first snow fell today in Chicago.
Damn.
It's been two years now since i moved back here from Cambodia, and I still really don't dig the winter. I know, I know. I grew up in Algoma, Wisconsin, and I should really stop complaining, because Chicago is about 10 degrees warmer than there all year. But I really think the winter weather takes a toll on my psyche. Not in a "where's my shotgun?" kind of way, just in a way that makes me feel all the more dislocated from what's supposedly my society and my culture.
On the extremely bright side, I get an Xbox 360 from Mountain Dew on Saturday. I will be able to resume my streak of getting videogame systems on or before the initial release date--and hopefully this one will be more of a hit than my previous tries. I have to admit, I used to be a total sucker. The Atari Jaguar, the Sega Saturn and Dreamcast...heck, the Sega Master System--maybe Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer will have the shipment halted when they scope out my record.Wednesday November 16, 2005 - 11:45pm (PST) Permanent Link | 0 Comments
