Exhort one another every day, as long as it is called ‘today,’
that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.”
(Hebrews 3:13 ESV)

We need people in our lives who will love us enough to warn us when necessary. Just as “iron sharpens iron” (Proverbs 27:17 NIV), we’re to push each other toward Christ-like behavior and protect one another from failing in our faith.

God calls us to “tell each other the truth, because we all belong to each other in the same body” (Ephesians 4:25 NCV). The basis for warning each other in loving truth is that “we all belong to each other.”

Our warnings are not to be mere rebukes; they should be positive and redemptive – calling us to a higher place and reminding each other of our godly purpose. They are exhortations for restoration, and are given as loving corrections with a humble heart and compassionate words.

The apostle Paul said, “So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.” (Acts 20:31 NIV). Can you hear the passion and compassion in his voice? When our warnings are motivated by love and based on committed relationships, they rarely come across as harsh or mean.

In fact, when we warn others, we tell them how much we love them.

And as part of a Christian community, we also should be ready and willing to receive warnings from others. The fact is, we all have blind spots. Just like a driver sometimes needs help to see what’s in a car’s blind spot, we need friends to help us see things in us or near us that we don’t see ourselves. And in the same way we would warn a driver, the point is not to tear down the other person, but to keep him safely on the road.

Paul also says the warning should be immediate – “as long as it is called ‘today.’” We should seize the moment because waiting to warn only leads to disaster.

So what?

· Take a loving risk – You show your love for others by lovingly letting them know of blind spots. It takes a risk to show love in this way, but what will it cost if you don’t warn your friend? Who in your life needs to hear a word of warning?

· Loving restoration – When you point out a blind spot, it should not be done in anger. Your motive should be to restore your friend to a strong Christian walk and witness. Ask, “How can I make this warning tender?”

· Listen, don’t defend – Are you willing and prepared to receive a similar warning? When someone points out a blind spot in your life, listen – and don’t defend yourself. Take it to God and ask if it is true. If it is, ask him what you should do about it.

We must use the Word of God (the Bible) and the authority and power delegated to us by Jesus to confront the powers of darkness, which are waging a supernatural war against the people of God. This supernatural war has tremendous repercussions in our physical world, in the form of wars, social unrest, violence, hunger, poverty, diseases, religion, the occult, and many others.

Without the presence of Jesus Christ in our lives, we are powerless against the war Satan wages against us. Each one of us should become a fortress against the powers of darkness, which surround us and infiltrate our lives to steal our souls, kill our bodies and destroy our civilization (John 10:10). All authority and power in Heaven and on Earth was given to Jesus Christ:

"Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me." " (Matthew 28:18) (NIV)

"When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases." (Luke 9:1) (NIV)

When you become a true Christian (a born-again Christian), and not just a nominal Christian (in name only), you will have all the powers of Heaven at your disposal. You will receive permission from Jesus to use His name, and have authority and power over ALL powers of darkness, including Satan himself.

"And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues." (Mark 16:17) (NIV)
"The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name." (Luke 10:17) (NIV)

Jesus said: "I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you." (Luke 10:19) (NIV)

Note: Many theologians interpret snakes and scorpions as type of demons and power of the enemy as referring to Satan.

Before you attempt to pray any of the following prayers you must become a born-again Christian, that is, a true believer and follower of Jesus Christ. Otherwise these prayers will not be effective. If you do pray these prayers by yourself, they may bring you a temporary relief from the enemy. It is like putting the enemy on probation. But if you are a true Christian, then Jesus will lock up the enemy and will keep the key. We strongly recommend you seek a true Christian or a prayer ministry team to pray these prayers over you.

How can you become a true Christian?

You become a true Christian when you come to know who Jesus Christ is and what He has done for you on the cross, and you receive him in your heart and life as your Lord and Savior. Once you are saved, the Lord will never leave or forsake you (Matthew 28:20; Hebrew 13:5), and nothing can separate you from the love of God (Romans 8:35-39). Salvation is an invitation from Jesus for you to be reconciled with God the Father (2 Corinthians 5:19) Salvation is deliverance from the penalty of sin and spiritual death (Romans 6:23). Salvation is an act of grace from God to those who are lost (Luke 19:10). No one can earn salvation, not by works neither by deeds; it is a free gift from God. Your salvation was made available to you when Jesus died on the cross for you.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." (John 3:16-17) (NIV)

To many people, the name Jesus Christ is no more than a religeous by-word; an overused and often abused spiritual figure by which some men make millions of dollars from their naive "followers." Yes, throughout history men have used Christianity as a means to gain wealth and even power, but those men missed the true riches of Christianity.

As the song says, "All we are is dust in the wind..." The Bible teaches that God created man from dust, and that man was separated from God because of Sin. People have a tendency to blame God for their problems and suffering. In truth, the only reason we are in such a state is that we ARE separated from the fellowship of God from the moment we are born because of our very nature. It's hard to admit it, but we are a sinful race, and we inherited that sin from the first man Adam. Here is where some say, "But that's not FAIR! Why should I be punished for something some far distant ancestor did!?" Well since we did nothing to inherit sin and death, but be born, God made a way for us to inherit life by doing nothing of ourselves to earn or merit it. This is where Jesus Christ came in.

God is perfect. And in his perfection, he established a law that pronounced death and an eternity in Hell as the punishment for sin and required innocent blood to be shed for the forgiveness of sin. In the time of the Old Testament, a lamb was sacrificed, but that lamb only temporarily covered man's sin. God wanted to make a way for man to be permanantly redeemed (free from the law's requirement of death.) He sent his only begotten Son to leave his throne in Heaven and come down to Earth to give himself as the perfect sacrifice for Mankind's sin. Jesus had a human mother, but was supernaturally concieved without a human father. By this, Jesus Christ was born as a human but did not inherit the Sin nature that we all inherited. He was, as we were, born to die. In the 33rd year of his life, Jesus allowed himself to be crucified on a cross by the very men he was dying for. While on that cross, he took upon himself the sin, past, present, and future, of all men. He literally suffered our Hell for us!! He did this because he loves us... more than we will ever understand! That was God's perfect sacrifice... the Lamb of God, but it was not the final victory. After three days in the tomb, Jesus Christ was victorious over death itself and he rose again. This was Christ's ultimate victory over Sin and Death and now he offers all men the chance to have Eternal Life!

This is the most important message you will ever read! Jesus' sacrifice was given as a free offering to any who would accept him as their savior. Our sin still separates us from God until we simply ask Jesus to apply his shed blood to our lives and accept him as our Savior. Consider the following words from the Bible and make the most important decision of your life!!

Isaiah 64:6 - "But we are as an unclean thing, and our righteousnesses are as filthy rags..."

Romans 5:12 - "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"

Romans 3:23 - "for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 5:6-8 - "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God commended his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Romans 10:9 - "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

All you must do to be saved and have the promise of eternal life with the Lord Jesus Christ is pray this simple prayer (you can pray this in your own words):

Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that the Bible says the price for sin is an Eternity in Hell. I want to live my life no longer for myself but for you who have already done so much for me. Lord please forgive me and come into my heart and be my savior! Amen.

If you have prayed this prayer and believed in the Son of God, then you are now part of God's family!! The Bible teaches that God will never take away the eternal life that he has promised you, and that he desires that you serve him in this life so that he can reward you in the next life.
