anxiety?

oy! so i'm going to treat this as a "web diary" for a moment, and spill my guts on boring personal stuff... so bear with me (or better yet, skip this post all together!!)

i hate anxiety dreams!

and they pop up at the most inconvenient times..

like after a really nice wedding, and a really good meal, and even a good visit with a friend i haven't seen for months.

it's sometimes hard to say where the anxiety comes from. the wedding; the sunburn /bug attack possibilities inherent in an outdoor wedding; the sitting in the corner, even with the aforementioned friend; the preponderance of marriage in my (ever so small) circle of friends; the fact that the friend demanded we skip the toast portion of the wedding and go off for bagels, to which i acquiesced; the fact she wouldn't stay at my place last night (house too messy or just nervous about her cat?); the sitting at a table full of geeks and still being the one sitting in the "corner" while conversations went on around me?

the sock i made that changed it's mind to not fit and the fruit about to go bad that i threw out may have something to do with it, but that last one made me tear up, so i guess i'm gonna have to vote for that one...

hence the diary portion of this entry (boy, is this ever going to see the light of day?)

the dream itself was chock full of anxieties, so multiple problems are perfectly reasonable (as is pms, a fact never to be ignored when tears are involved). there were late-to-work anxieties, have-to-do-dishes anxieties, moldy-food-in-the-cupboards anxieties, and the never popular being-replaced-by-someone-cuter-so-they-all-ignore-me anxiety. hmm... i'm beginning to see a pattern here.

so the dream started as an altered terrain dream, with my parent's house, or a reasonable facsimile of it. then there was the waking-up-being-late issue, followed by the been-replaced-by-a-younger-cuter-version-because-you-grew-up-and-the- show-was-losing-it's-demographic aspect (yeah, i watched sitcoms in the 80's.... i'm much better now) this was followed by what appeared to be a breakfast dilemma... which i didn't even realize was an anxiety problem! inside the dream, it seemed i had had dreams that involved people's breakfast choices, where they ate healthy while ate my usual... or something. but instead of them (the new kid) eating healthy, they were throwing out all the oatmeal and muesli since it had gone bad. there were also piles of dirty dishes being washed, and when i stuck my hands in to help a little, i ended up being the only one doing them!

there was also a touch of the little kid standing there waiting impatiently as i had snitched his dishrag, but somehow i couldn't just give it back to him (guilt?). this sounds like my previously mentioned issue?

well, i'm going to post this now, since this is where i woke up and started writing this entry before i forgot all the ramifications...

i think it's time for Alton, Captain Jack, or maybe the Power Rangers... yeah, don't ask...
