Sanskrit
The authentic National Language of Bharat (India))
Sanskrit is spoken and used in almost all the parts of our country. In our golden historical periods of past, it had been the official language of Bharat.
What Bharat we see today, Sanskrit has lot to contribute to its identity, great size, Nationalism, Self Respect and Values.
But ever since we got adapted to the slavery of foreign rulers, we started loosing our identity, Aryans became the foreign-invader to Bharat, Sanskrit became the “Communal and Dead Language” and Vande Matram became an objectionable National Song!
Even after 62 years of independence, Sanskrit continues to be the marginalized language, spoken by some “minority” spread all over Bharat and in many parts of the world.
Sanskrit is taught as a ‘rote learning’ subject in many schools of Bharat, and where it is a selective subject, students usually take this language out of temptation to obtain higher marks or some sorts of scholarships and very few, out of emotional attachment .
Even, I have studied Sanskrit till standard eight, and I know my many friends who took this language in their matriculation but we are unable to communicate and properly understand the language.
I appreciate those great souls who have made very few Sanskrit movies and serials; I can remember only two: “Adi Sankracharya” and “Abhigyan Shakuntalam”.
I am aware that many people across the globe love this language- I wish that Ministers and Bureaucrats in Prasar Bharati and in Information and Broadcasting division of Government of India would also be loving this language and would be thinking to launch a 24 x 7 complete National Sanskrit TV and Radio channels, say Doordarshan Sanskrit, Sanskrit FM, etc. so that the great language of Gods is rejuvenated.
But I am sure that many people will object this step of Government and it will also not have much contribution to the vote bank politics. But not all channels of Doordarshan are making profits! Government has many white elephants and a well managed National Sanskrit TV/Radio channel will never become the one. Sanskrit has good niche market potential.
But whether our Government thinks or not in this direction, we should not let this language to be in dormant condition. Having many websites and online community/groups for support of Sanskrit is not enough.
Entrepreneurs will have to adopt this great language. Investing in the language will certainly pay back with good returns. Many Temples earns good amount of money through Dakshina/donations. If they could join together and contribute a little, we will have enough funds to launch this National Sanskrit TV and National Radio channels. If Sanskrit channel is launched, it can be allowed to be viewed in at least all the big and small temples of India and outside India, Sanskrit schools and colleges, Ayurvedic and Yoga Institutes, Vedic-astrological service centers, Shastriya Sangeet Academies etc. So we have a guaranteed viewer-ship across the Nation, perhaps many times more than many vulgar TV channels.
I have seen good market demand of Sanskrit Bhajan and contribution of South-India has been great in this regard.
National Sanskrit TV/Radio channel will allow intellectuals of different states to unite and do progressive works. Religion of Bharat will take new better shapes and will provide better thinking and life to its vast followers. The new emerged philosophy will ensure sustainable happiness to Humans, Animals, Plants and all other creatures of God. Debates by scholars on hot topics will attract lots of public interests. Students, Teachers, Professors, Researchers of Sanskrit will get opportunity to contribute to this National Channel. Those who know this language and are studying this language will be recognized and motivated. People will find this language easy to learn. It will ultimately lead to rejuvenation of our great country itself.
Vande Matram
Tibet and China
Reference: News on China Radio International, 9th December, 2007, 6.22 and 7.13 MHz, 9:30 to 10:00 Pm
As per my perception, China respects its human resources. The lady who tells the news, her pronunciation of Hindi is with Chinese accent, though little difficult at first for me to understand, but still she should be appreciated for her efforts and China should be appreciated for not outsourcing human resource and providing service to its own people.
The message was focusing that Tibet has developed a lot by being in China. Indians should visit it as tourists, as there are lots of Indianess there and vis a vis should become very good customer of China’s tourism Industry. There was also a message for unification of all the people of so called “Mongolian race”.
If China is really interested in the welfare of Tibet, then it should allow Indians to freely visit Tibet through the adjoining border regions and Tibetans to freely visit India.
Tibet is a place of great religious reverences for Indians, hence a potential Spiritual-Tourism destination. Tibetan entrepreneurs at small scale are doing well in India. Indian entrepreneurs should also be allowed to directly involve in the overall development of Tibet.
Symbiosis between Tibet and Bharat (India) will help Tibet to attain holistic development. It will also have lots of sustainable benefit for the china.
Tibet is not lame; it has the potential to walk hand in hand with India, China and the world.
I had send this article to a News paper on Wednesday, 17 May, 2006 . But it was rejected - perhaps because my views were nothing new from what already being published in several News-papers at that time. But still I felt the relevance of what I wrote and so I am sharing with you the same. India is a country full of paradoxes. A person can convert his/her religion and become beneficiary (separate educational institutes, funds from foreign, job in foreign, etc.) but even if someone likes to convert his/her caste they cannot get legal benefit of it . Here follows what I had written:
All the people belonging to “Forward Castes (FC)”are not rich, educated and privileged and also all from “Backward Castes (BC)”,”Other Backward Castes (OBC)”,”Schedule Castes (SC)”,”Schedule Tribes (ST)” etc. are not poor, uneducated and underprivileged. Brilliants, dull and mediocre; fortunate and unfortunates, well mannered and ill mannered, optimists and pessimists, scrupulous and unscrupulous are found in all the strata of society.
Caste system was to ensure livelihood and is natural and not permanent. What is the caste of an actor? Certainly, acting. A person can change his faith, can’t he change his caste? Caste conflict and hatred is the result of scarcity in basic needs and feelings of insecurity in society, where society disintegrates and caste becomes rigid and conspicuous, with one caste trying to parasitize the other caste. Divide and rule policy of the politicians does the same.
If deprived ones are to be benefited, selection of beneficiaries should be done on the basis of socio-economic conditions, educational level and the like. No doubt, such selection will include majority from ST, SC, BC and OBC, but will also include the needy from FC, minorities and others. Also taxation is done on economic basis and not on the basis of caste. Providing reservations at college and university level shows that the government is not confident of developing capable and competent students at base level (schools). Reservations, if necessary, should be given on the basis of two broad castes Haves (Rich) and Haves-not (Poor). This will promote harmony, equality and progress in the country, but is not possible due to vote bank or divide and rule politics.
Problems of rift in society, pride and prejudice, was mainly due to fixing the caste by birth and same thing is being done in our modern society. Mahatma Gandhi, Vinoba Bhave and Jai Prakash Narayan had also tried for the welfare of the downtrodden ones, but they served by raising themselves above the castes. It is really disgusting to write about our caste and religion in admission forms. Is being Indian is not enough?
While filling an application form, I read that if some seats reserved for SC/ST/? by chance remains vacant than it will not be filled from that of general category and will go vacant. Where are we proceeding? It seems that as if FC is fully responsible for the poor socio-economic conditions of the reserved ones. Then what the government has done in more than half a century of “self rule”? Does it wants to promote social justice or to further divide the already fragmented society? Besides reservation in seats, there is reservation in scholarships. The cost of application form for general category is twice to that for SC/ST/?. This is to promote social justice!
Large number of students, especially from middle class families of underdeveloped states like Bihar, Jharkhand aspires to get seat in prestigious central universities and national level examinations- the craze is so much that many of them doesn’t cares in wasting/expending their precious years and money in going for costly coaching. When there are already so many reservations in state-universities, the central universities should promote equal opportunity to all. But in contrary, the government further wants increase reservations in central and private colleges.
Once a reservation bill becomes a law, It will survive for indefinite time and may further increase.
Reservations may bring social justice to some but it will also cause enormous injustice to many FC students, especially those from poor and middle class family and will nurture the divide and rule policy of unscrupulous politicians.
Multilingual Key Board
-Letter to be typed depends on user’s requirement.
Reference: “Kalibonca LLC” Key Board in Hindi.( http://www.kalibonca.com/). “A Feel of Hindi/ English Key Board, Invented by Dr. Mahesh Jayachandra.- Computer Se Dosti Karo, Business Line, Monday July 30,2007.- Preethi .J.( http://www.blonnet.com/ew/2007/07/30/stories/2007073050010100.htm)
After reading the article, I felt that some new easy options can also be tried to bring Multilingual Keyboard, in which the user can get letters of not only two but many languages, depending on the requirement. This will be most suitable for the Multilingual Country like India.
The Present English Keyboard Model is to be taken as Reference Keyboard. Then a computer programme is to be developed which will allow recognizing letters of different language in reference to the position of English Letter on the Reference Key Board.
For example: A (Reference Key board) = क (Hindi Keyboard) = க (Tamil Keyboard) =............................................ Images of such comapatible Keyboards is to be generated and loaded in the Permanenet Memory of the Computer.
Now nothing but just some empty space besides the English Letter is to be provided on the English (Reference Keyboard). A person with a permanent marker (eg. OHP sheet Marker) can just write the letters of desired Language on the empty space by reffering the Image of Virtual Key Board on the Monitor Screen. This will allow Computing in any language with the same Keyboard.
1. Monitor Screen: Virtual image of the key board to be shifted to. A क B त C ग In the given image,(1) first image shows the process of making Hindi(/English) Keyboard. Now need arises for Tamil typing. (2) Erasing the previously written letter by little alcohol or spirit and looking at the virtual Tamil Keyboard (image from file), Tamil letters can be written besides the permanent English letter. Instead, small stickers or thin plastic covers (of different colours for different letter) with inscription of leters of different languages can also be used. A क B त C ग D E F G H I J Hindi Key Board 2. Monitor Screen: Virtual image of the key board to be shifted to. A க B த C ம A க B த C ம D E F G H I J Tamil Key Board
Electronic Dictionary
Idea for innovation
I don’t know whether such device is there or not, but I feel the importance and need of such device called Electronic Dictionary. It should be handy- like our calculators. We need to just type words and it will provide Meaning, Sentence usage, Pronunciation, etc. Ideally it should support many languages and should give meaning of a word in different languages. It should be built in collaboration of dictionary publishers and electronic device manufacturers. It should have facility of updating through Internet. It will be great service to Student and Teaching community and also to general people.

| If we just type the words, the device will give us the meaning, pronunciation, sentences, etc. It may provide meaning and pronunciation of the words in different languages/dialects. It should have Updating facility. |
