Superhero Bar Crawl Photos!
Remember the SuperHero Bar Crawl that we posted about back in January? Well, April came around sooner than everyone expected, and a nice showing of superheroes (and even an obligatory villain) spent their tax refund checks on booze this year. Look over the photos if you missed out on the action!

Fourteenth Annual Ides of March March!
Fourteenth Annual Ides of March March! magnify
Phat Man Dee announces:

Allow me to invite all of you rediculously lovely and odd people, people I am proud to call friends, to join me and mine in a 14 year old tradition we call the Ides of March March. This year we will as we have, as in years past , join at 12th and Carson in the South Side at Birmingham Plaza , in costumes, warm, with good walking shoes, with drums, horns a plenty and plenty of whatnot and whyfores.....where, once we have gathered unto our unsightly bosoms those not like nor unlike ourselves , and march proudly, wearing the dogs, or being worn by the dogs as you please......

6:00pm
Saturday, March 15, 2008
Birmingham Square
S 12th & Carson Streets
Pittsburgh, PA 15203

Gather at 6pm, depart at 6:30pm. Parade with dignified debauchery in our vain attempt to warn passerby to Beware the Ides of March March! Go to 22nd St or maybe S Side Works, (traditionally it has always been 22nd for a turn around place, but these days I am thinking the folks at S Side Works need it more, S Side proper is used to it, they get popcorn and watch the freaks go by and cheer us on, which is great , but we need to instill a sense of fear , when they expect it it's not nearly so fun) Then we parade back to the Rex where the Zafira Belly Dance Troupe will have planned a lovely show, $10 for marchers (reg price is $15) and I promise there will be cake. I am emceeing the show, and singing, Mardi Love is the guest featured dancer, I know Buddy Nutt is playing the saw and who knows what else, it'll be awesome. I really hope to see some familiar frost burny faces out there, it would mean alot to me. If you make any mobile sculpture, scope Carson St, some of those signs are not so high, I suggest planning for low clearance, we stay on the sidewalk, we don't go on the street, so art cars and bigger things dont really work. Bikes, stilts (only if you're *really* good at it, we have had stilt casualties!!!!) are ok, we have gotton away with fire in the past, bring your own fire safety person!!!

Frostburn Reminder (Sounds Like Cacophony)
[Cacophonists are reminded that cacophony has been an integral part of Burning Man* since its appearance in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada. Please attend Frostburn and inject as much cacophony into they event as you can get away with!]

There are only 3 weeks until Frostburn and only *1 week *left to reserve your indoor camping space!!

What's Frostburn? It's a "Burning Man" type camp out over Presidents Day weekend that's being held at Coopers Lake Campground in Slippery Rock.

Lots of people have signed up including the following fun camps:

And you can't miss the Naked Mr. Rogers sing-along!
http://frostburnpgh.com/events.html

Lots more information here: http://frostburnpgh.com

* Burning Man is an event that takes place every Labor Day weekend and draws 40,000 people to the Nevada desert. Its different things to different people:  a canvas for interactive art, a party, a community of freaks, and so much more!  It is also closely linked with the original San Francisco Cacophony Society!
