14th Annual Beware the Ides of March March! - Sat Mar 15 @ 6:30pm
14th Annual Beware the Ides of March March! - Sat Mar 15 @ 6:30pm magnify
This just in from Phat Man Dee (Pittsburgh's First Cacophonist!):

So it's 13 degrees outside? What better time to dust off the parade gear and make preparations for the 14th annual Ides of March March? Let the dog heads hang high as you press and steam your cumbersome bumbleshoot in wild and frenzied preparations for music and mayhem in the streets.... On Sunday March 15, on South Side, @ Birmingham Square 12th and Carson, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15203 The cost is free but for the price of your soul.....ladies and gentlemen, the time has come, it is now upon us, The 14th Annual Ides of March March!!!!

Meet us at 12th and Carson, we meet at 6:30 pm, but we leave at 7:30 sharp, so don't come crying to me if you get left behind..... be sure to wear your dogs heads high and let your bannerjees fly! Fling your wherewithal to the tattersall and join us in our annual pilgrimage up and down South Side’s E Carson for no apparent treason but to warn the good neighbors and passerby to BEWARE! BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH MARCH!! All ages, legal for the most part and there will be cake. Always with the cake, like these hips need more cake......BEWARE!

For those of you new to this March March, unlike other crawls and events, we don't stop anywhere to drink, we just kind of charge mindlessly through the streets for no apparent reason. There will be an after party at the Beehive, and there will be cake. Some kids and under 21 folks join us, so we like to keep it accessible.I hope you may join us, I haven't seen alot of you since the Frostburn and the Santarchy, so it would be nice to see us get together again. Big costumes, big noisey things, just no drinking on the way, I am sure you can hold out , and if you can't , I hope you are a hasher and can catch up......

Sounds Like Cacophony: Polar Bear Plunge (1/1/09)
This just in from Former Santa Frank:

Every year there is a Televised Polar Bear Plunge and it's always on the NEWS and TONS of NEWSPAPERs do interviews of people (hmmm, what could we do with that...) It's free but there is a charity that Sells Polar Bear Plunge T shirts for $10 bucks (at least last years price). I didn't buy one last year because I forgot to bring cash, this year I'm buying one...

There are about 500+ people that do this. And all the safety people are there (Fire, Police, Coast Guard). Tons of fun and it purges the New Years Eve Hangovers very quickly....

And us Cacaophonists might be able to think up something cool to do, to add to the flavor of this event!

Date: 01/01/2009 NEW YEARS DAY!
Time: Jump in at 9:00am be out of the river at 9:01am ;-)
Meet at: 8:30am at Mon Wharf (Yes, you can park there.)

Make sure you bring blankets, Towels, robes. It's damn cold but invigorating. Also okay to bring friends that aren't willing to jump so you have a PIT CREW.
