Your clamour for an Our City page for your city has been heard! Get to know the latest about your city by just entering your city name and we will generate a page for you with the latest news, photos, maps, weather and several other interesting resources about your city.

So no matter where you live in this world, a capital city or an important town - Bangalore, Bangkok, Mumbai, Manila, Meerut, Miami, Munich - get the latest content about your city on the fly.

This, an Our City version for their city, was the most frequent request from users and this is a good first step in this direction.

Some of our first time visitors who are on slow connections (dial up etc.,) had problems with loading the home page of Our City given the rich content on the page. We now have a new landing page for new visitors that loads in a jiffy. It provides a brief description of Our City and allows users to Select the City they would like to see.

Users who set their default location (click the check box on any city home page) will be taken to their default location page from the next visit onwards.

Jammu, Nasik, Trichy, Udaipur and Vadodara Our City versions are now live. People from these cities have a new destination to check out latest news, weather, photos, events in their city.

You have written to us asking for your city version to be created and we have now built five more city versions. Additional city versions will be built based on the availability of quality content that can be aggregated.

Other new features

* Local language news content for Hindi speaking cities is now available from Dainik Jagran - This will give you the most latest, relevant local news.

* You can make Our City your home page by clicking on the 'Make Our City your home page' link on the mast head (visible only on IE browser)

It has been a while since the last update on this blog. While we are working on the next set of features to keep you more engaged on this site, here is some info on some of the existing features. This is more for the uninitiated, frequent users among would know many of these.

* The site changes it visual theme based on the time of the day. We have three visual themes - morning/evening (twilight), day (bright sky blue) and night themes (dark blue).

* Notice the weather data on the mast head, you can click on it to go to the detailed weather page. We also have the current local time listed there, could be useful for our foreign visitors.

* Know of an event in your city, then why not share it. The events that are shown are created by users like you. Just click on submit in the events page and you can enter the event details on upcoming (our social event sharing site). Our City pulls events from upcoming.

* Want to discuss a topic with your fellow citizens or want to pick their brains on questions that are troubling you. You can post topics for discussions on our message boards in the forum/Discuss page or post questions in our answers section.
