I hope something posted here may help awaken others, to ask themselves "What is the purpose of my life?"

Harmony, Balance and the Human Ego
Harmony, Balance and the Human Ego magnify
Except for the human ego, all of Nature’s elements operate according to the law of altruism. They are in balance with their environments and create harmonious systems. When the balance is breached, the organism begins to disintegrate. Thus, the ability to reconstruct the balance is a necessary condition for the existence of life.

The importance of intention
The importance of intention magnify
The intention to attain the purpose of existence, to sense the Creator, and to unite with Him must be authentic. It is the only reason for doing anything. Anything one does with this aim in mind is considered a Mitzva.

Can desires be changed?
Can desires be changed? magnify
Q: What is the most effective way to stop enjoying for myself and start enjoying for the Creator, without killing my desires?

A: One cannot change one’s desires, as they are given from Above. He cannot even change His aim directly. It is said that “the Light reforms.” So the results only gradually become apparent through efforts in the study, and through the attempts to be connected with the rav.

You will acquire the sensation of the Upper World, the Creator, and make your progress by yourself, through the desire to receive strength from Above.

Likeness to the Creator
Likeness to the Creator magnify

If I attain Him, His actions, and His instructions, I will be adapting the correction internally. I will place myself in likeness to Him and this will be called “I perceive His actions and serve Him”, work “for the sake of Creator”.

It is also said, By Your actions I will know You”.

I will attain Him by adapting my actions to His and by becoming similar to Him. If I begin my exploration of Him straightforwardly, this will be called “philosophy.” I will not achieve anything this way. I can only comprehend and attain the Creator if I become similar to Him, and then all those conditions and qualities that exist in Him will be formed in me. Subsequently, I will be able to understand His intentions, something that precedes His qualities and actions. From the Guf (body) of the Partzuf I will rise to its Rosh (head).

Spiritual Ascent and Attainment
Spiritual Ascent and Attainment magnify

There are different ways to ascend. One of them is called an “Awakening From Below,” where, through influence from Above, we begin to want spiritual attainment and ascent. We begin to read books, join a group, and so on. There is also another way: an “Awakening From Above.” That happens when the Creator Himself chooses to lift a person up.

The difference between those paths is that the “Awakening from Above” is the slow and steady ascent of our entire world, regardless of our personal ambitions. However, those who appear to have a personal desire are brought to study Kabbalah. If those people do not use what they are given, the Upper Forces begin to demand it of them. Consequently, one must take the spiritual work one is given from Above very seriously.

There is something in us called “the Stony Heart.” This refers to our egoism. It can only be corrected when a Collective Light, called Messiah, comes to our world. Only that Light can correct it, but we must first crave the correction of that part of the egoism in our world. When there is such a desire, the phenomenon called “the coming of the Messiah” will occur instantly, and will deliver us forever from the torments of this world.
