From Personal to Political to World Affairs... my take on it all.

Wow... so Iran's nuclear weapons program has been stopped since 2003??
This changes everything... Hopefully completely changes the diplomatic dynamic, and opens a sort of Libya-type opportunity where Iran promises to permanently shutter the program for economic openings...

US tightens the screws...

The US has designated additional Iranian banks and a larger portion of the IRGC to be supporters of terrorism. The lines are hardening, and countries like Russia, India and China need to decide if they want to trade with the US or Iran...

More on the Syrian/North Korean axis...

The New York Times provides more in a report on the Israeli airstrike on the Syrian nuclear program.

The administration seems divided and cautious, which is good.

We need to not be so gunshy because of our aggressiveness on Iraq and the intelligence failures there that we become paralyzed, though...

On North Korea and Chinese leadership...

Today's NY Times Op-Ed in another along a line I've been encouraging since the beginning of this crisis.

The point: get China more involved in solving the North Korea problem.

China seeks stability in the region, and realizes that having a nuclear proliferator run by a dictator on it's left side is not conducive to stability. The Chinese are almost certainly aware of the intelligence showing the North Korean connection to Syria and the nuclear side of this story. This is a provocative act in a decidedly unstable region. China must take leadership in its region if it seeks to be a leader on the world stage.
