"Charpie's Turning World" Full Post View | List View

My day-to-day thoughts on life as I see it and as it happens to me.

A growing family... how 2 dogs & 1 kitten inserted themselves into my life...
A growing family... how 2 dogs & 1 kitten inserted themselves into my life... magnify
Wellllll... I know I haven't blogged much at all the last couple of months and if I tried to explain what's been going on, welllll, it might take more than a couple of hours to read, so, here is the short version with details to follow at a later time....

I've been extremely busy! HAHAHA!!! Lots of stuff, mostly good, and boy oh boy, does the big power upstairs have a HUGE sense of humor I know that isn't much help but when you spend most of your time with teenagers who prefer to be band geeks, you really start to learn a few things.

One of those things might be what it's like to have a new kitten (maybe 8-9 weeks old) brought home by the almost 18 yr. old adult in the house...that just happens to have TWO, yes that's right... TWO thumbs on both front paws.... well, let's just say that "doing the matrix" has become a new slogan around here.

Another thing that's increased is the total number of DOGS......yes, you heard it here first... DOGS... now numbers THREE, yes, you are right again... THREE instead of the 'ol "over the hill 1 dog". I had a family member move out of state and I ended up bringing home TWO blue heelers or Catahulas, aka, Australian cattle dogs. They are wonderful dogs, weigh probably 40-50 lbs. each and eat (and what goes with that, hummm?), sleep, and want to be loved. Because they are mother and daughter (mom is 15, daughter is 12) and been together all the daughter's life and they just happen to have a few "senior" moments... I am having a little bit of a time trying to find a home for them both. Of course, since they have been here almost a month now, I'm starting (LOLOLOL) to grow a little attached. Mix in a female 13 yr. old cat who just happens to feel like maybe "feline menopause" is just a myth... and now I'm thinkin' y'all are starting to get the picture.

I have learned a new word (still teachable, thank GOD).... and it is "asshat" which when said in a quick voice cannot be heard "exactly" what was just said... by anybody, that might be remotely close by, can become the exact adjective needed to describe... welllllll..... let's just say "person"... ya really gotta love being around teenagers, cause they can keep ya really young and hip... hehehe ... (psssttttt.... don't tell them I told, ok?). So now instead of trying to hold back the "normal sailor's cursing", I just say "OH, YOU ASSHAT YOU" really, really fast and then feel better immediately, thereby, saving time searching the "almost full, no more wrinkles needed" brain for just the right word or phase. Go ahead, I dare ya...... try it, I can't name the originator's name (no more fun w/teenagers then), but I won't claim I started it and let's all see if we can start a trend... maybe even get it in the dictionary as a "new" word. OMGOMG what a hoot!

And this is just the tip of the 'ol iceberg, so to speak... there is so much more... As I said earlier: THE BIG POWER UPSTAIRS HAS A HUGE, TREMENDOUSLY HUGE, SENSE OF HUMOR!!! sorry for all the "yelling" but it's hard not to laugh really, and I mean really, laugh loudly, hard and long.

And as I've heard more than once.... more will be revealed.

And that folks, is all the time I have right now, this moment to share, so.....till next time....... and thx for listenin'...

Time for more from "Things Your Mother Always Told You But You Didn't Want To Hear" by Carolyn Coats

The man who believes he can do something is probably right,; and so is the man who believes he can't.

Hate is a prolonged manner of emotional and spiritual suicide.

Are your troubles causing you to lose your religion or use your religion?

Always wear clean underwear; heaven forbid you should have an accident.

The average man is more interested in a woman who is interested in him than he is in one with beautiful legs.

Saints are sinners who kept on trying.

"Knowledge is power" said Hobbs but "Imagination is more powerful even than knowledge" said Einstein.

It takes both rain and sunshine to make a rainbow.

"I am like that," does not help anything. "I can be different," does.

Labor to keep alive in your breast that little spark of celestial fire called conscience.

Deal with the faults of others as gently as with your own.

People forget how fast you did a job but they remember how well you did it.

If you trust, you don't worry. If you worry, you don't trust.

We are never more discontented with others than when we are discontented with ourselves.

What goes up - always comes down!

The great thing in this world is not so much where we are, but in which direction we are moving.

More from the book "Things Your Mother Always Told You But You Didn't Want to Hear" written by Carolyn Coats.

It doesn't matter if you're on the right track, you'll still get run over if you don't keep moving.

In every trouble there is a blessing.

Time doesn't heal, but it makes the hurt bearable.

Idle hands are the devil's workshop.

Happiness comes not from exterior situations but from the peace within you. Joy is never in things, it is in us.

There is no place to hide a sin without the conscience looking in.

Out of suffering come the strongest souls. God's wounded often make his best soldiers.

And of course, Charpie's world keeps on keepin' on...

It's a beautiful day to be alive in Katy, Texas today!

The following are some more "Things Your Mother Always Told You But You Didn't Want To Hear" by Carolyn Coats.

"All things work for good for those who love God. Romans 8:28. Not some things or most things but ALL things; so praise Him even in your troubles."

"The really happy man is the one who can enjoy the scenery even when he has to take a detour."

"Use the talents you possess; for the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except the best."

"If we fill our hours with regrets of yesterday and with worries of tomorrow, we have no today in which to be thankful."

"Let he who is without sin among you cast the first stone."
John 8:7

"The tide of life is sometimes very rough but each storm ridden through makes us a better captain of our souls."

"Success in marriage is much more than finding the right person, it is being the right person."

"To belittle is to be little."

"The greatness of a man is not evidenced by his finding faults but by fixing them."

"It is better to suffer a wrong than to do a wrong."

"Our problem isn't not knowing what is right. it is doing it."

"Marrying is not marriage!"

"Nothing improves our prayer life faster than big trouble."

"Manners are the manifestations of class."

"Character and ideals are catching. When you associate with men who aspire to the highest and best, you expose yourself to the qualities that make men great."

More from "Things Your Mother Always Told You But You Didn't Want To Hear" by Carolyn Coats

"We are not called to live up to others responsibilities, but to our own."

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." We have committed the "Golden Rule" to memory, now let us commit it to life.

"An admission of error is a sign of strength rather than a weakness."

"Love is like the five loaves and two fishes. It doesn't start to multiply until you give it away."

"People who live in glass houses, should never throw stones."

It's a beautiful day to be alive and sober in Katy, Texas.....
