This is nothing extraordinary, just about my great everyday life (okay, some days, it is not so great.)

Moving things to typepad
well, I am taking the plunge and moving to typepad.  Here is the URL - http://emmascloset.typepad.com/emmas_closet/

I am still in the process of working on the layout, etc.  I am really tired right now, so I think I am going to go to bed... I just wanted to give everyone an update!

I am back.... for now
I am back.... for now magnify
I am back... at least for the next 3 days and then I am off to Colorado.  Just got back from Monterey/Salinas/Carmel California.  The weather was outstanding, especially since in Oklahoma the temperature with the heat index was 105+...  yes, cannot say I am said that I missed the brimstone weatherImage
I took some of the most awesome pictures, which I will try to get uploaded soon.  AND I found out that my camera takes incredible video footage.
Some of the folks wanted to go out for drinks and dinner.... pish... whatever..  I drove to Pacific Grove, took 17 Mile Drive (who the heck lives in the $15 million plus homes.. geeeeessss, they were beautiful, but the price tag almost makes you choke).  17 mile drive is well worth the $8.75.  Went to Pebble Beach and had a drink and then ate dinner in Carmel.
I will say, once again, housing prices are hard to believe.  A house the size of mine with less land runs anywhere from $600,000 to over 2 million, just depends on where it is.

I did make time to stop at Knitting by the Sea.  to buy some yarn, and I did.  Had an incredible chocolate macaroon (like I really needed it, but who cares) at Napoli Napoli.  Walked around a bunch while I was there.    Needless to say, if I ever come into a lot of money, you will know where to find me because I will have packed us up and moved to Carmel.

Well, must get moving.  3 days to get ready to go to Colorado for almost 2 weeks...  and one of those 3 days I have to work...  too much to do and don't really want to get started.

Will it ever stop raining?
Will it ever stop raining? magnify
We have had rain on and off (mostly on) since Monday... and lots of it...  The air is so heavy, it, well, as my daughter says "I can't breathe out here"....    Good thing we are getting it, but I wish it would just rain all at once and then go away...  This is such a difference from last week when it was in the 80's and the air was crisp.  Now it is in the 90's and the air just "drips".

Still do not know if I will be going to Monterey, CA on Sunday or not.  Purely for business, but kind of looking forward to it (0ther than changing planes at LAX).  I will get there early enough to go the aquarium on Sunday!  Yeah!

A Purse and Hat for me
A Purse and Hat for me magnify
Well, here is the felted wool crochet cloche hat (say that 5 times fast) that I made for myself.  I have not been able to get a good shot of Em in the shirt I made her.  The shirt is based off of a Japanese pattern that is sooo simple.  Oh, and the bag is an Amy Butler Swing Bag. Minus the scarf/sash, which I will make at a later date.  This is an easy bag, but the straps are a royal pain in the patootie...  too much material plus canvas.. so glad my sewing machine can handle it.   I really want to get the Weekender Tote Bag pattern. I think  that bag just looks wonderful~~ oh,  AND there is a fabric store in Brookside I want to go to Material Girls Quilts. Looks like they have incredible fabric.  Flea Market Frenzy is a cool line that has come out.  May have to check that out once travelling settles down.

A Bike for Emmie
A Bike for Emmie magnify
Emmie got a bike this weekend.  We have graduated from the Big Wheel...yahoo, but now she wants to ride all the time.  First thing this morning (7:30 am) she said "Can I go see my bike?"..  Grandpa found the bike at a garage sale ($4.. cannot beat that since they outgrow them) and he bought tassles for the handles, a basket for the front and a helmet.  I bought the pink, purple, and white spoke decorations that make noise (um, that is a must for any child's bike.  Shoot it should be a requirement for them to make noise).

I did get my new sewing machine out and made the Amy Butler Swing purse.  I only took me 5 hours.  I also made a wool cloche.  If only I could stay home every day and create away (note.. must find a way to stay at home and sell my things and try to make what I presently do at my job).

Well, promised girlfriend orange sherbert so we better get going : )
