Frankfort School of Ballet is closed Thursday, February 21, due to the threat of icy roads. Dancers should attend their regular make-up classes.

Note that closings are always reported on the dance studio answering machine, the Frankfort radio stations, and the Lexington TV stations.

A lot of parents have asked me if their child should move up into the next age-group's class for the spring semester, and in almost all cases, the answer is no. All of the kids are getting older at the same rate. So, if you're in a 5-year-old class but are turning 6, the other kids in your class are probably turning 6 soon, too -- and if you moved up into what is called the 6-year-old class, well, you'd probably be with a bunch of girls who just turned 7! So, throughout the schoolyear, we base placement on what the child's age was on August 12, 2007.
