The first demotrack of upcoming album is Online.

This will be the one and only announcement for my rss and mail readers
of demotracks coming up in the near future,
to avoid annonying news whenever a new demo is online.

So please, to those interested to follow the progress,
check back from time to time at omkarmusic.com
to see whats up there.

This time, the album is going to deal with instruments and themes
around the far east
and is strictly instrumental.

The usage of instruments
will not follow classical or traditional phrases
but rather have its own musical harmonies and solis.

The instruments like Guzhen, Pipa, Koto and Shamisen
are embedded into a modern Western instrumentation,
so categories like Ambient, World Music and Ethno Music
may match accordingly.

The working title currently is "Blessed Moments"
which will reflect situations we all know,
when we encounter impressive and beautiful events,
like having found a lover, watching the birth of a child, etc.

The demo tracks are going to be unnamed,
since they have just working titles as well
and may change while mixing.

You need to have flash player enabled in your browser,
to see and use the mp3 player at the upper right site
of the homepage.

For now, I wish lovers of this kind of music
a good time by listening to the demo(s).

The official album release will be announced separately.

omkarmusic.com will change current site system and visual presentation

For a couple of reasons it`s time to upgrade the site omkarmusic.com ...

While working this moment in the back to arrange everything,
I`d like to notify visitors and friends of this site.

So, what`s the impact ?

- You may encounter some unusual behaviors while being at the site,
this is basically because of a live change at some point.

- you will miss some common features or navigation tabs at the beginning
since everything has to be re-done from the scratch.

- a site may disappear for a moment, because some tweaks are done.
If you encounter this, bear with me ... some things have to be done live.

The most important impact is ...

with the upgraded publication of omkarmusic.com,
the rss and newsletter management will be outsourced !

To maintain administration for this service
ate a lot of free time and was a great pain on my neck.

This is the important part to understand:

you will have to change the rss newsfeed adress
into: feeds.feedburner.com/omkarmusic
in your news reader
if you like to stay in touch via rss.

At some point the topic rss newsfeed adress
becomes non valid and the new adress will take into account.

The new adress above is now parallel online and under testing enviroment,
so don`t expect anything there that does make sense ...

Since the new management allows to combine rss newsfeed and newsletter service,
you are able to receive the same content either via rss newsfeed or via mail.

All newsletter subscribers by now will be imported into the new management
and receive omkarmusic news as usual with the exception it is less personalized,
because the mere site content will be transfered via mail.

New friends and visitors will find the opportunity
to either subscribe to the mail service or to go along with rss newsfeeds
when the new site is established,
the content will be allways the same.

After the upgraded site is done and running smooth,
I am going to prepare the prelisten for the new album.

But don`t forget to make the news about the album progress
available for you as described above, if you are new to the site.

I have to be a bit vague at what time exactly
the change is going to happen,
sorry about that.

Freeware Tools to keep Windows XP slim, fast, reliable and stable

Especially for musicians but mostly for other users as well,
working on a PC (Personal Computer) based sytem,
Windows XP, older or/and further Microsoft releases like current Windows Vista,
are the OP`s (Operation Systems) to go for.

For this Microsoft Windows OP`s often additional tools are needed
to get them running fast(er) and (at the same time) stable.

One of them I`d like to introduce, because I work with it all the time.
It`s free, but donations are welcomed.

The basic questions due to a Microsoft Windows installation are:

- What the heck do you install when you have a monstrous package
in terms of gigabytes on your hard disk after Windows is ready to go ?

- Why do you need to be present during installation (typing serial, doing adjustments etc.),
can`t this be done without you ?

- Why a fresh installation has to become a one after another reboot orgy,
when new service packs and all dependent drivers needed to be installed after ?
