Here you shall find my wit and wisdom about the events of the day...as well as my writing and stuff.

The Obligatory Late September Blog Entry Thing
Well, I made it through a Labor Day weekend without the madness of DragonCon. I did miss it, but I also knew that I needed to stay away this year because I was simply exhausted both physically and mentally. This has been a very stressful year, and had I gone to D*C with all the massive crowds and other stuff (as in the Hyatt having to boot people because of a new fire marshall with a bug up their ass), I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as I would have a year ago.

Things at Wally World have calmed down a good deal. We're in the lull between inventory, back to school and the "C" word (you know, Christmas), so things have been somewhat slower. That will pick up soon enough after Halloween is over and the air gets chillier.

What I worry about is the fact that Wal-Mart doesn't have layaway this year. This, as well as the credit crunch, will bring down business, I believe. We'll still do well, but not as well as we would hope.

Well, I have to go. I need to write more here in the future. Once I have a laptop to take to my other job, I probably will post a lot more not only here, but at a slew of other sites as well. We'll just have to wait and see.

And the official decision is...
I'm not going to Dragon*Con. Part of the reason is that I cannot comfortably afford to go and still do what I want with the apartment, but the major reason I am not going is that, to be frank, I just didn't have the enthusiasm for it this year. Granted, should I somehow manage to win the Powerball lottery, that will be subject to change, but since there is no way that will happen, I will sit out this year, opting instead to have a relaxing weekend at home. That's a rarity considering I work two jobs and almost never have weekends off anymore.

If I could afford to take a few days off before or after D*C, then maybe I might do it, but I seriously doubt I could budget a full week off from both jobs.

It sucks, but such is life. Then again, who knows? Maybe I will hit Powerball Wednesday night. It'd be the mother of all acorns to a blind pig if I did win, but I'm only out a dollar if I lose.

My back hurts, but, then again, when has it not hurt?
Meh, I'm okay. I think I overdid it with my back somewhere along the way in the past few days, and now I'm paying for it. Ugh!

Electronics is working out great for me. I'm a lot less tired (except when I work the kind of grind I worked this past week). I worked 8-5 on Tuesday and Wednesday, so I slept in the afternoon and not in the morning like I've been used to, so I definitely was in zombie land for the last couple of days.

Not 100% sure if I'll be going to Dragon*Con this year. M0ney is part of the problem, but another is that I just am not sure if I want to deal with the crowds this year. I think part of the reason I'm waffling is that I want the days off but want to do something else besides go to Atlanta. I'm holding off on a final decision until mid-August, though.

After that, I plan on buckling down, get ahead on some bills, work on redecorating my apartment, and making some changes in my life. Details to come.

That's it for now. See ya!

It's the day before the day before the Fourth of July
Life is rolling along fairly well for yours truly. Could be better, but could be worse, obviously.

I am escaping the black hole known as Grocery ICS over at Wally World as of Saturday, when I begin in the electronics department as a sales associate. Lest I say that I am quite thrilled with this, as this is the department that I wanted and it will be a lot less stressful than the job I currently now have.

As of right now, I'm still planning on going to Dragon*Con, but it will probably be like last year, with everything happening at the last minute. Since I'm going to a new department, I don't know yet if I will get those days off (that won't be a problem at my other job), so I am holding off on getting my registration until I know for sure that I am going to be off those days.

I will be staying with some new people this year. Much as the hospitality Brooke and Co. showed me the last two years, the chance to stay at the Marriott and be able to save some wear and tear on my legs was too good to pass up. I've come to realize that I will probably need to do something major with my feet, ankles, and knees in the near future, so I will probably be looking for a new doctor to use my insurance on in the near future.

But I will probably pay Brooke and her group a visit during the con, though. Besides, I liked the food at City Cafe, so I may pop down there after the mall closes for some grub.

If, heaven forbid, I can't go, but can get some days off that weekend, then I may see if my sis and her beau would want to go somewhere. Maybe back to Carowinds, or to Six Flags over Georgia, or perhaps somewhere else.

Lord knows with what's gone on this year, I could use a vacation!

What you can do these days on a cell phone
Yes, I've finally gone and done it! I have a cell phone thanks to Cingular. Now I feel like I'm keeping up with the Joneses! lol!
