The Shores of Tampa Bay
One fine fall day in the beautiful front range of the
Colorado Rockies the work had slowed.
I packed up my van and headed to Tampa Bay Florida
to catch up with my brother and work for the winter.
In my travels into seven different states, I saw more of the beauty
that the USA has hidden.
Wildlife roams, around the rat race of humans, a deer by the stream
drinks peacefully, completely un-seen. Dinner for a family, will
surely someday be its destiny.
My first time on to the shores of Tampa Bay, I pull out my tackle
that I used in the Colorado Rocky mountains.
Trying to figure out what would work to catch a fish from the sea.
Pretty funny if you were to have seen me!
My first catch was a doozy, I might say!
While standing off shore about fifty feet, up to my elbows, i was soaked.
Crystal clear waters, I could see tiny fish swimming back and forth.
Casting out as far as I could, drawing back nothing and wishing I would.
Gazing at an uncrowded beach, kids playing in the sand, parents just
relaxing in the rays of the sun.
All of a sudden, I saw a Double Humped Creature on the floor of the
sea, racing back and forth, heading right for me!
I kept stepping to the side, wondering why this double humped
creature just kept chasing me!
I felt like I was ready to start walking on water back to the shore!
Figured I would try to ward it off by casting my lure down into its path.
Funny thing, the double humped creature grabbed it and wouldn't let go!
A double humped creature chasing me backwards, stuck on my lure,
having no clue what the heck it is!
Un-certain fears, yes, yes, they put me back on the shore!
Yelling out to my friends, a few feet away, they were already headed
towards me to see whats the fuss.
Landed my Double Humped Creature, that chased me to shore,
found out from my friends, which were all laughing galore!
My first catch in Florida was Two, Humpback Crabs Stuck Together,
just Mating away! Yes, a true story... I can't wait to catch a shark!
