George Orwell is banging on his coffin lid and screaming, 1984 was a cautionary tale, you dolts, not a motivational speech! BOO! You are among the liberal heathen! Reply
Another day in Dumbyaville. "I'm the Decider"
I was crushed to sees his name two Sundays ago. My heart felt as though it skipped a beat and my stomach fell to the floor. NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!
CPT Belser was one of the best young officers with whom I served. A true leader, always from the front, but willing to take input. Huge smile that just made your day. Even after an a$$ chewing from the commander, he was never down. He left behind a young wife and two children under 6 years old.
Although I have seen names of people I knew. This one hits home, because I worked directly with/for for over 2 years, daily.
He has a Guest Book here.
"Come, come, my conservative friend, wipe the dew off your spectacles, and see the world is moving." Elizabeth Cady Stanton
Cheers to all of you ~ for leaving a little spot for me. Thank you.
Cheers to Sen. Tim Johnson ~ for steady improvement to his health. He was released from the hospital to a private rehabilition center where he will focusing on physical, occupational and speech therapy.
"The Senator made great progress in the two months he spent at GW Hospital and we wish him all the best in his continued recovery."
Jeers to the MSM ~ for not reporting the news. If there ever were a trial, in the future, for anything related to you know who the jury pool has been tainted. I knew very little about the deceased before the death, I now know more than I ever cared to know.
Note to media: MOVE ON!!!
Jeers to Darth Cheney ~ in an attempt to shore up relations with Japan and sell the administration's WOT™ he gave a speech where apparently "fear sells".
...delivered aboard the USS Kitty Hawk aircraft carrier at Yokosuka Navy Base near Tokyo, Cheney said: "We know that terrorist attacks are not caused by the use of strength, they are invited by the perception of weakness."
I always thought sex sells?
He seems to be forgetting (pattern here?) a little bit of the facts...
Cheers to Inspector General Glenn A. Fine ~ for calling it like he sees 'em. Whole report here.
Overall, nearly all of the terrorism-related statistics on investigations, referrals and cases ... were either diminished or inflated. Only two of 26 sets of department data reported between 2001 and 2005 were accurate, the audit found.
be careful Mr Fine, they will follow you over here...
Tears to the Soldiers and their families that are / will be deployed for Chimpy’s bravado.
As always CHEERS to Bill in Portland Maine and all those in the C&J crowd.
I found out that one of the Lieutenants that I helped train in the ways of the Army died in Iraq February 10th. Although, I check the casualties every three or four days to see if I know anyone, I did not see his name until I watched This Week on Sunday. I only watch ABC on Sundays to see those that have sacrificed their life. This is the only show that I know that does this. When I saw the name I froze and my stomach fell. I ran to the computer to see that the soldier that died was one of my favorite lieutenants. He was not only a cool officer, but my Platoon Leader.
When I left the military in 2003 he had a wife, a 2 year old and a newborn child. He died at the tender age of 28.

Money Trumps Peace!
Why is this not plastered on the front page of every Newspaper or "Breaking" Story on the TV?
Freudian Slip? You decide...
Money trumps peace, sometimes.
One of the problems -- not specifically on this issue, just in general -- let's put it this way, money trumps peace, sometimes. In other words, commercial interests are very powerful interests throughout the world.
with dumbya at the wheel we already knew this was his motive
Cheers to those GOP Reps standing against the surge ~ at least there is a little heart on the other side of the aisle.
Republican leaders predict that as many as two dozen or so GOP member could vote for the nonbinding repudiation of the troop increase. Rep. Walter Jones of North Carolina led the GOP rebels during debate on the House floor.
it is a shame it is non-binding...
Quote from the House floor:
I'm tired of the manipulation of intelligence by this administration. I'm tired of the stubbornness of an administration that didn't have a clue about the Middle East realities when they got us into this mess, and don't have a clue now about how to get us out. ~ Rep. David Obey, D-Wis.
Cheers to National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) ~ scientists have identified proteins that could lead to a vaccine for HIV.
In a finding that could have profound implications for AIDS vaccine design,...have generated an atomic-level picture of a key portion of an HIV surface protein as it looks when bound to an infection-fighting antibody. Unlike much of the constantly mutating virus, this protein component is stable and — more importantly, say the researchers — appears vulnerable to attack from this specific antibody, known as b12, that can broadly neutralize HIV.
Cheers to Al Franken ~ for entering into the Senate race to boot Norm Coleman from the Minnesota Senate seat.
this is going to be fun
Jeers to hmmmmm ~ They are out there...I guess it means I have post-hump day Cheers. ;o)

Happy Valentine's Day to you, and you, and yooou on the other side of the pool!
Cheers to Janis Karpinski ~ for standing up to the bully, dimwit Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-SC). In a discussion following the advance screening of the HBO documentary "Ghosts of Abu Ghraib", Graham said he thought Karpinski "should have been court-martialed" instead of just demoted. Not knowing General Karpinski was an honorary guest, Graham received a lashing...
"Senator Graham," she began, "I am also a resident of South Carolina." As a wave of chuckles and applause washed over the audience, Karpinski told Graham how she looked forward to returning home so she could share his comment with the rest of his district. "Thankfully," she intoned, "your opinion doesn't count for anything."
[snip]
"I consider you as cowardly as Rumsfeld, (Ricardo) Sanchez, and (Geoffrey) Miller," for lobbing accusations without undertaking any real action to uncover the extent of the abuses at Abu Ghraib.
lay it on him General! The reThugs are afraid of the truth.
Tears to Rep Charlie Norwood (R-GA) ~ politics aside the 12 year veteran of the House and Vietnam Veteran lost his battle with cancer and lung disease. Condolences to his family and friends
where's the media coverage? I admit, I do not want the three day coverage with "breaking news", but what a shame...
Jeers to the Resider ~ for the CO2 being expelled by the House for a non-binding Resolution that he will ignore.
remember this is the signing statement-er in chief
