Just a collection of thoughts and links to ideas I believe in strongly.

Christian Wealth Redistribution

Economically there are worse enemies.

WEALTH REDISTRIBUTION

Christians are handing over their wealth to the enemy.

Example #1: Foreign Oil:

This is real popular issue right now. But for the Christian it is important as well. America is sending billions a year to foreign countries like Russia, Venezuela, and Iran that don’t care for the Christian faith. How much of the Christian communities’ wealth is being sent to these countries that would rather see us fall than live free to worship our God? As a Christian community in order to preserve our way of life, we should demand a new energy policy that allows us to retain our wealth inside our community.

Example #2: China Imports:

China does not allow Christianity in its country. There are numerous human rights violations against China for its treatment of Christians. But how much of the Christian communities’ wealth is being sent to China for products “Made in China” to support this growing economic super power? As a Christian community in order to preserve our way of life, we should demand to buy products within the U.S. so we can retain our wealth inside our community.

Example #3: Secular Companies:

Secular companies will spend their profits on secular activities. When was the last time Hollywood sent charity money to a religious organization? When was the last time the Recording Industry sent charity money to a religious organization? How often do you hear secular companies like McDonald’s supporting causes that are against the Christian Community? How much of the Christian communities’ wealth is being sent to secular industries to support an agenda that is against the Christian faith? As a Christian community in order to preserve our way of life, we should demand to buy products that are sold by Christian companies so we can retain our wealth inside our community.

As you see from these three examples, the enemy has surrounded us. Economically speaking we can not spend our money in almost any direction without it being turned against us in the form of charity money to a secular organization.

Who’s to blame for this mess? Christians. We allowed the “innocent” purchases of secular products to incrementally eat away at our purchasing power.

We can not be as effective leaders in this world without the tool of purchasing power. Until we decide to retain our purchasing power and use it to promote Christian values, products, and services, those organizations that do promote those ideals will continue to not be as effective in their role in society.

Right now we are experiencing the effects of massive wealth redistribution from Christians to non-Christians. Ultimately, God told us that Christians will be abused in the end times. But we don’t have to let it happen in our generation do we???!!!

All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing. - Edmund Burke

PRAY FOR MORE LEADERS IN THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY!

Failure

On our trip to Texas to see family for Christmas, I failed Christ. On the plane back home, the lady in front of me needed to hear from Christ. I just knew from looking at her and her "husband" that they needed the Lord. They carried themselves and wore the clothes of a very successful, 21st century, cosmopolitan couple. However, somehow I could tell they were not happy despite their success. I knew God was telling me to lean over and just say simply that "Jesus loves you." But I couldn't do it. Later, she pulled out a self-help book by the Dalai Lama and again God moved me to say "Jesus loves you". But I couldn't do it. I wrestled with this random exposure of God. I ultimately won that battle and did not say a word to her. But I strongly believe I lost the war with that woman's soul. I feel horrible about it. Writing this will not erase the scars. However, I write this to share with you my experience, so that you will not feel the guilt from not doing what the Lord calls you to do. Trust me it is better in the short and long term to do what the Lord says. It does not ask for much.

Miracle

On our trip to Texas to see family for Christmas, we broke our baby's stroller. We were late for our plane and had to quickly load up the stroller for quick packing. When we tried to snap the closure on the stroller to keep it folded up, a piece of cloth was stuck in the closure. The extra cloth made the locking mechanism too tight and with my force broke the closure. We both saw the piece fly off the stroller and hit the ground. We both saw the serrated edge of the broken plastic piece that was suppose to fold up the stroller.

Day by day we went through the Christmas holidays trying to fold up the stroller, but being reminded by the broken piece that the stroller was broken. Well, on our way back home we needed to fold up the stroller to give it to the tenants to put under the plane. We instinctively folded up the stroller and snapped it close. We quickly realized we just snapped it close. What was once broken was now miraculously fixed. We have no idea how or why this happened. But as sure as we can, our resale shop Winnie the Pooh stroller was broken and is now fixed. PTL!

DEBT-FREE

On Dec 5th, we celebrated paying off our last two consumer debts. Except for our mortgage, we are DEBT FREE. We DID IT!! It is an amazing feeling! We went from about $90,000 in debt after leaving college to only a mortgage now. You should try it!

BeatingDebt.org

I believe I found my venture that could satisfy my restlessness. I was always interested in helping families manage their finances. I believe there is a tremendous problem of over spending in personal and public finances. This problem is the root of many other social problems in the world. I believe if I can help people beat their debt down to a manageable level, or even to nothing, many of our social problems would be reduced dramatically. So, I am starting a non-profit called BeatingDebt.org that will use the power within the community of the internet to encourage users to beat their debt down together using Biblical principles.

I am still praying about the next step.
