Change Your Life, Forever....

You did not arrive here by accident.

God has never turned his back on you.....even when things were at their worst. He sees what you do, what you feel, what you think and it does not change the gift he offers to you this day. No strings attached, no money to pay, all you have to do is accept it from Him. Before you click to leave, just spend a moment and find out what it is He has to offer you today.

I know that you may have been hurt in your life; there may have been times when you feel that God was not with you, that he was getting back at you, that he didn't love you. What you will find out today is that he has been with you every second of every moment of every day of your life. When your heart broke into pieces, God was there weeping and holding you in His arms. He knows the hurt you have felt and he knows the hurt you will feel again.

Contrary to popular belief, God is not 'vengeful'. He is not sitting there just waiting for the moment when we mess up in life so he can 'smite' us. God knows our actions, even before we do them. He knows that we are full of faults. He understands that we are human beings who face incredible obstacles throughout life and that we are inherently weak in our abilities to handle them appropriately at times.

You may think there is no way that God could love you. You may have done things in your life that others could not possibly forgive you for. You may feel ashamed or embarrased to even attempt to connect with God, but I can assure you He is there waiting. If you listen, he is there....knocking on the door to your heart. He loves you, and he will always love you. That is why he has given us this gift. Not just for the 'good' people in the world, but for everyone. All you have to do is accept it and set yourself free from the burden of your guilt and self convictions.

PAID IN FULL

My little boy came into the kitchen this evening while I was fixing supper. And he handed me a piece of paper he'd been writing on.

So, after wiping my hands on my apron, I read it, and this is what it said: For mowing the grass, $5.
For making my own bed this week, $1.
For going to the store $.50.
For playing with baby brother while you went shopping, $.25.
For taking out the trash, $1.
For getting a good report card, $5.
And for raking the yard, $2.

Well, I looked at him standing there expectantly, and a thousand memories flashed through my mind. So, I picked up the paper, and turning it over, this is what I wrote:
For the nine months I carried you, growing inside me — no Charge.
For the nights I sat up with you, doctored you prayed for you — no charge.
For the time and the tears, and the cost through the years — no Charge.
For the nights filled with dread, and the worries ahead — no Charge.
For advice and the knowledge, and the cost of your college — no Charge.
For the toys, food and clothes, and for wiping your nose — no Charge.
Son, when you add it all up, the full cost of my love is — no Charge.

Well, when he finished reading, he had great big tears in his eyes. And he looked up at me and he said, "Mama, I sure do love you."

Then he took the pen and in great big letters he wrote — Paid in Full.

Tell Me Stories About Jesus written by Glenna M. Baugh with love...........
Tell me stories about Jesus
How He walked on the sea
I love hearing stories about Him
Please tell them again to me.

I want to hear how little children
Liked to gather at His knee
Hearing His words of wisdom
So happy and so free.
Tell me again how in the garden
He prayed with distress and pain
I want to hear about the cross
Where My Jesus was slain.

Tell me about Jesus and His love
How He taught us to kneel to pray
Tell me over again that He lives today
With God, HIs Father, in heaven above.
Now I know the wonderful Story of Jesus
How He freely gave His life for me
I will love and praise Him as I sing
And the beautiful bells in heaven will ring.

Now I know Jesus has forgiven my sins
He died on the cross to set me free
I have taken Him as my Lord and Savior
And in heaven Jesus is waiting for me.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow
me all the days of my life: and I will
dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Psalm 23:6 KJV

They did WHAT in a cathedral? And nobody cared??

A friend just sent me the following article from GlennBeck.com, and I just had to shake my head, not so much because of what happened at a cathedral in New York, but because it sounds like there wasn't any outcry from Christians over this. And before we start blaming the "liberal media" for not reporting all the facts, consider that Glenn Beck is a hardcore conservative who wouldn't report things to make Christians look bad unless Christians--or in this case, their notable silence--deserve to get thumped. But casual observation suggests this is not at all an isolated case of apathetic people who claim to be Christians. There are more than a few situations in our daily lives where our utter lack of outreach or involvement--do we even care???--leaves a perfect void for Satan and his minions to move right in and set up shop. He's not taking over anything--we're leaving the keys for him. How much longer does stuff like this have to happen before we either start following Christ or stop calling ourselves Christians?

I want to give a big Happy Birthday shout-out to Sir Elton John -- honestly, you don't look a day over 70 (well, maybe 78). I guess my invitation was lost in the mail, but Elton threw himself a little party last weekend inside the Cathedral of St. John the Divine right here in Manhattan. Unfortunately, there were so many people that he had to remove all the church pews, turn the altar into a stage, and bring in over 1,000 bottles of champagne to keep over 400 guests, like Rod Stewart, Elizabeth Hurley and Donatella Versace, nice and liquored up.

But Elton wasn't satisfied with just one night of sacrilege. On Sunday he performed at Madison Square Garden with an image of a burning church playing behind him. Now, I know you're thinking: "but Glenn, isn't Elton John the guy who said he would ban all religion because it turns people into hateful lemmings?" Uh huh. But c'mon -- he's got lots of cash! If he wants to drop a few mil to desecrate a church, then hey--who are we to judge, right?

Wrong. The Real Story is that if we don't stand up and say enough is enough, our religions will continue to rip themselves apart until there's nothing left. If I were a member of St. John the Divine I would be absolutely outraged; how dare you sell out my sanctuary for profit.

There is an epic battle being fought inside our churches right now. It's the traditional vs. the new; it's the "bible is literally the word of god" people vs. the "bible-schmible, I can pray from my lazy-boy people."

In just over a decade, weekly church attendance has dropped by over 12 percent, representing millions of people. In the last 25 years the number of people who say they have no religious preference has doubled.

The churches feel those numbers every Sunday as they look out at their empty pews and, like any business, they're trying to adjust. But religion isn't a business and when you try to make religion "fun for everyone" you end up making it spiritually fulfilling for no one.
