(Ella Higginson (1861-1940))
I know a place where the sun is like gold.
And the cherry blooms burst with snow;
And down underneath is the loveliest nook,
Where the four-leaf clovers grow.
One leaf is for hope, and one for faith.
And one is for love you know;
But God put another in for luck--
If you search, you will find where they grow.
But you must have hope, and you must have faith;
You must love and be strong’ and so.
If you work, if you wait, you will find the place
Where the four-leaf clovers grow.
(Robert Browning (1812~1889) )
The year’s at the spring,
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hill-side’s dew-pearl’d;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in His heaven―
All’s right with the world!
Walt Whitman (1819~1892)
....I depart as air, I shake my white locks at the runaway sun,
I effuse my flesh in eddies, and drift it in lacy jags.
I bequeath myself to the dirt to grow from the grass I love,
If you want me again look for me under your boot-soles…
Failing to fetch me at first keep encouraged,
Missing me one place search another,
I stop somewhere waiting for you.

Dear March, come in!
How glad I am!
I looked for you before.
Put down your hat―
You must have walked―
How out of breath you are!
Dear March, how are you?
And the rest?
Did you leave Nature well?
Oh, March, come right upstairs with me,
I have so much to tell.
