* Only in South River can this happen * Entry for February 07, 2007
Update in South River
Amy B. the Director was forced to resign in disgrace or face police charges.
The center is being run by an assistant
Christine the bus driver is still there with her attitude problems, she still takes off when she pleases and leave the riders stranded while she is in the office. It seems her cell phone has a hands free device, but she chooses not to use it. The no tips sign has been taken down in the bus.

Only in South River, NJ can crap like this happen.
In other boroughs and towns, they have a senior center, in South River they have an Office of the Aging converted from a building built in the 40s. There is insufficient parking as it is. other borough agencies have offices there. In other centers the director's have a degree or have a social worker on staff. South River has a dimwit named Amy who got the job because of Joanne D. her cousin who is on the Borough Council. She was previously a crossing guard. This dimwit was made full time with benefits and a salary of $41,000, then she has a budget of $85,000, that she does not have to get approval to spend. The Democratic portion of the council voted her in. She is not happy with her salary or budget, as it is not enough.

Then the center has a bus driver who in other places would have been fired a long time ago. This driver Christine was also made full time with benefits by the Democrats. Christine uses a cell phone which has a hands free device, but she refuses to use it. Then she accepts personal calls on it in addition to the ones from the office. Part time drivers were hired, but did not stay long because Christine hogs all the hours and they were paid less. Christine accepts tips which is not allowed, the hand picked riders who were interviewed saw no tips being given. Then no one is allowed to eat or drink on the bus, but Christine is allowed snacks by her contract. Christine spreads malicious gossip, but no one heard her.

This was reported to a Councilman named Anthony R. by e-mail who is the liasion. He sent me an e-mail accusing me of having a vendetta against the driver, harrassing her and slandering her.

Christine has been failing to pickup seniors on several occasions who were scheduled to be picked up. Once she dropped off a bus load of seniors and told them what street to meet the bus on and what time. Well it started to rain and she parked two blocks away and said if they want ride they will have to walk to the bus. She felt sick on the day the seniors were to ride to Shop Rite to go food shopping, this happened on numerious occasions.

There is a senior named Stan who is a man with disabilities and comes to the Thursday night Fellowship Dinner at the Holy Trinity Church. He drives himself, but has trouble walking, so someone helps him.
One night as we were leaving, Christine made a comment to the people on the bus that, the man should not be driving as he can't even walk by himself. Then she said he is not a good driver and almost ran head on into her bus.
I have spoken to the man before and told him what Christine said. He said he never had an accident, the incident Christine mentioned was not true. He parks in a handicapped parking space. He said she blocks the handicapped space when she lets people off, so he can't park until she leaves. Then she again blocks the space when she picks up people and he has to wait to leave until she moves the bus or tries to get by if there is space. That is when she accused him of running into her bus.
I have seen her block the driveway to the parking lot at the Knights of Columbus during a senior party and again at the St Peter and Paul Church during election day.

After Amy B. leaving, Kim B. was hired as director. Kim came from my building as Service Coordinator, most of the seniors in the two buildings she worked in did not like her. Christine is still behaving in the same manner as before. Not picking up riders. Kim covered up for her by saying the rider did not call in to get on the list. Then Christine has riders she likes and blows the horn for them to run out of their house, of course no horn for riders she does not like.

* Abondoned in a foreign country * Entry for November 20, 2006
Lagos is the largest City in the Country of Nigeria in Africa.
A friend I met online in MySpace was given a contract to fly to Lagos to do make up for beauty contestants. She landed in Lagos approximately on November 13th, completed the contract and was paid on November 16th.  They were very satisfied with her work.

The hotel she stayed in was paid in advance. She contacted KLM Airlines to find out what the return fight would cost. The check was written from an out of the area bank and the local bank would not cash it. Well she did not have enough money for the return flight.

The United States Embassy would not help her. She went to the director of the beauty contest who signed the check. He said he would cash the check if she slept with him. She refused.

That is called getting screwed of an American Citizen by a foreign country.

                                                    -------------------------------

The woman who cantacted me used the name of Jennifer Drew and claimed to come from Baldwin Park, California. She also claimed first to be a fashion designer, then a makeup artist. Then she wanted me to send her money so she could fly home. If she was legitimate the US Embassy would get her home. Most of those who contact your from Ghana will eventually ask you to wire them money or they will send you a money order to cash and wire them the money. The money orders are counterfeit. They either claim to be students or want to move to the United States. A lair for these people is MySpace and they also ahve false identities

* Why Dismantle the United States* Entry for November 11, 2006
My wife, Rosemary, wrote a wonderful letter to the editor
of the OC Register which, of course, was not printed. So, I
decided to "print" it myself by sending it out on the Internet. Pass it
along if you feel so inclined.

Dave LaBonte (signed)

Written in response to a series of letters to the editor
in the Orange County Register: [CA]
------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------
Dear Editor:
So many letter writers have based their arguments on how this land is made up of immigrants. Ernie Lujan for one, suggests we should tear down the Statute of Liberty because the people now in question aren't being treated the same as those who passed through Ellis Island and other
ports of entry.

Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people like Mr. Lujan why today's American is not willing to accept this new kind of immigrant any longer.

Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to the United States, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented. Some
would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home. They had waved good bye to their birth place to give their
children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture. Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labor laws to protect
them. All they had were the skills and craftsmanship they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity. Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out. My father fought along side men whose parents had come straight over from Germany, Italy, France and Japan. None of these 1st generation Americans ever gave any thought about what country
their parents had come from. They were Americans fighting Hilter, Mussolini and the Emperor
of Japan. They were defending the United States of America as one people. When we liberated France, no one in those villages were looking for the French-American or the German American or the Irish American. The people of France saw only Americans. And we carried one flag that represented one country. Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up another country's flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would have been a disgrace to
their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here. These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be an American. They stirred the melting pot into one red, white and blue bowl.

And here we are in 2006 with a new kind of immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges. Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes the entitlement card and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country. I'm sorry, that's not what being an American is all about. I believe that the immigrants who landed on Ellis Island in the early 1900s deserve better than that for all the toil, hard work and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better life.
I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags. And for that suggestion about taking down the Statute of Liberty, it happens to mean a lot to the citizens who are voting on the immigration bill. I wouldn't start talking about
dismantling the United States just yet. (signed) Rosemary LaBonte

P.S. Pass this on to everyone you know!!! KEEP THIS LETTER
MOVING!! I hope this letter gets read by millions of people all
across the nation!! ~~ r.p.

South River election ends in dead heat
One seat goes to GOP; other to be decided by provisional ballots
BY MICHAEL ACKER
Staff Writer

John Trzeciak
Republicans rejoiced this week as they gained at least one seat on the South River Borough Council and a chance at control of the governing body.

The other council seat up for grabs Tuesday remains in a dead heat.

Republican John Trzeciak won his first council seat, with 1,752 votes, while longtime Democratic Councilman Richard Reichenbach lost, with 1,565.

The tie is between Republican Michael Trenga and Democratic incumbent Anthony Razzano, at 1,594 votes each with 12 provisional ballots to be counted in the coming days. Borough Clerk Albert Seaman said those ballots should be tallied by early next week.

Seaman said this is the first time he has seen election results come in at a tie in his 33 years with the borough.

Just 45 percent of the borough's 7,147 registered voters cast ballots Tuesday.

If Trenga is victorious, the Republicans will have a 4-2 majority on the council. If Razzano wins, it will be 3-3, with Democratic Mayor Robert Szegeti able to cast tie-breaking votes.

Michael Trenga
A packed room at the Democratic headquarters in the American Legion building, Whitehead Avenue, expressed surprise Tuesday night as they learned the results.

Reichenbach spoke before his supporters after the totals were announced.

"They have a saying," Reichenbach said, "and this is three years in a row that [South River Democrats] have lost a seat: When you win, you win, and when you lose, you win."

The Republicans have made many promises, Reichenbach said, adding that residents will see if they hold to them.

"I hope that some of the projects that we started will be completed," he said.

Reichenbach told the Sentinel that he will leave it up to the Democrats' campaign committee to decide whether he will run again in 2007.

Razzano, who was appointed to a vacant seat on the council earlier this year, thanked his fellow Democrats at the American Legion, including the mayor and Borough Council, for their support. He directed words of appreciation and admiration to Reichenbach that were soon followed by applause from those present.

Anthony Razzano
"You deserve to be on the council," Razzano said. "I could not have had a better mentor on the campaign trail than Richard Reichenbach, a fine councilman and a fine human being."

Reichenbach's presence on the dais will be missed come January, Szegeti told the Sentinel.

"I am disappointed," Szegeti said. "It will be a challenge for us to continue and for the Republicans to keep the promises they made."

"We are patiently waiting to hear back from the board of elections," Szegeti said with regard to the tied vote. He said the final results should be known in the next few days.

If the total after provisional ballots remains a tie, Szegeti said that a run-off election would likely take place.

Republicans at the Belarusian American Center next door to Democratic headquarters celebrated the news that Trzeciak was the top vote-getter.

GOP Councilman John Krenzel did not know the cost of Trenga and Trzeciak's campaign. He did note the difference in spending between the two parties during last year's election, when he won re-election and Raymond Eppinger received his first term.

"We spent $4,700 all year last year on the campaign, while the Democrats spent $47,000. That is 10 times what we spent, but that is what they normally do. That is how it works with the Democratic Party in Middlesex County," Krenzel said.

Trzeciak was pleased with the outcome, telling the Sentinel that he attests the Republicans' success in the election to their grassroots effort.

"We worked very hard on the campaign trail, speaking to different people," Trzeciak said. "The Republicans have built this from the ground up. We had been dormant for many years and it is great to be a part of an organization that is growing."

The issues he looks forward to working on when he joins the council in January are redevelopment, taxes and utilities, he said.

"That is what we ran on," Trzeciak said, "and I look forward to working as a bipartisan member of the council for the benefit of the community."

The trend over the past few years has worked in the Republicans' favor, Eppinger said, adding that it is going to be an interesting year for the governing body in 2007.

"We are pleased with the results," Eppinger said Tuesday. "Voters got the message, and I look forward to working with John Trzeciak, whom I have known for many years."

Krenzel said that he also looks forward to Trzeciak joining the council in January.

"We are looking forward to working with the Democrats and we look forward to having a greater say in the governing of South River."

The voters of South River sent the Republicans a positive message with this election, Trenga said, adding that he is proud of Trzeciak for his victory.

"I think that the people have spoken, as my running mate beat a longtime incumbent. I am confident that I am going to come out victorious," Trenga said. "Whether I win or lose, this is a victory for us. I do not think that the Democrats expected to lose any seats."

"Communist Party supporting Democrats" Entry for November 07, 2006
Communist Party supporting Democrats
BY GREGOR

The official website of the Communist Party is urging you to vote Democrat on Tuesday. I'll leave it up to you to decide what that means.

Look for yourself
here.

One comical note though. On the website, they write ...

"Defend Democracy. Change congress in 2006"

Is it a bit ironic that the Communist Party pretends to support Democracy? How many voters will actually fall for that?

I'm not sure how they can lose this election. With endorsements from the Communist Party, Hezbollah, Hamas, the Taliban, and Hugo Chavez ... how can you go wrong.
