Yesterday was a special day......... My husband's job is not an easy one and quite honestly a very "Thankless" one at that. Can you imagine to go to work everyday you have to put on a bullet proof vest. Well, yesterday he was awarded the Medal of Life Saving..............and we couldn't be prouder. Of course we are always proud of him and he is always our hero but it was nice for him to be recognized by his department in front of almost 1,000 people. Seeing my son that day was so special. His dad is his number one and let me tell you he was on top of the world yesterday watching his dad receive this special medal. It was something I will never ever forget.

For my kids and I..........being able to see him receive this award was important........we were there with him when he tried to save this man's life. He was off duty and we were on our way to lunch. The car crash was horrible and he knew what had to be done. He was first on scence - an Anaheim officer came along with another bystander...............the car was engulfed in flames not to mention the live electrical wires all around..............but with no fear instinct took over and he raced to help free the traped man from his car that had flipped and was upside down in a revine. It was so scary to watch but at the same time I was so proud. The man did not end up making it but if it wasn't for my husband and the others he would have died a much worse death.

Next time you see a motor officer pulling someone over just remember he's not just some jerk cop with nothing better to do --- that same man may be a husband, a father doing his job and helping keep you safe......and one day off duty he may be saving someones life!!!!!!!!!!
