Why Yahoo allows these type of solicitations without giving us some way to report you skank holes I do not know.

Well, a year in business has come and gone. Wasn't a bad year. Not the best either. It has taken a lot to learn all that I need to know. Taxes (ugg) and keeping track of the bills. Thank God for bill pay and automated banking.

I have a lot of yarn in and am getting more everyday. I am thinking of carrying Cascade in the spring. Winter is a slow time of the year. The previous owner would shut down in December. I cant afford to do that. While with it being slow, I pay part of the bills, at least staying open, I get a little money coming in.

On a personal note, I have barely slept 5 hours in an average day for the past year. I drive a total of 140 miles a day between bed and various jobs. The gas prices have eaten up whatever small profits I have managed to make. We have decided to buy something a little closer to the stores. We are keeping the small farm. It is almost completely fenced off now and we will be able to drive down and work on it on the weekends. But we are looking to purchase a small cheap trailer on a lot and get more sleep during the week. We figure that will give us 70 miles less of driving a day and an extra 1.5 hours of sleep. Woo Hoo! The cost of the lot rent is about what we would be spending on gas in an average week. As the prices are NOW. When the prices go up, we will be saving even more.

My first order for notions is coming in. And yes, it includes yarn. I had to cut my order in 1/2 due to monetary concerns at home, but I hope to complete the rest of my order within a month.



Woo Hooo, it is looking good so far. What you see in the picture is my wool. Brown Sheep Wool to be exact. The order coming in is a mix of circular needles, a few straight needles, double pointed needles in 6" and 4" (for the sock knitters), tatting shuttles, tatting needles, and cro-tatting hooks. Can't find a retail outlet for japanese tatting hooks as yet - I would LOVE to try to learn that.

The yarn I have ordered is a little sock yarn, and mill-end yarns. Due to money issues, I left off the majority of my yarn in favor of needles and mill--end bags. These are 1 LB bags of mixed yarns. They will either be all cotton bags or all acrylic or acrylic/wool blends. I will post pictures when they come in - hopefully next week.
