Jury Duty vs. Doctor's Appointment
I'm getting called in for jury duty (first visit) first thing Friday morning, the same time I have my big ultrasound appointment. I've been on "telephone standby" all week and now this. Mookie told me I should put my jury duty on higher priority because, as he put it, I could "go to jail" if I skip it. I scheduled my ultrasound appointment months ago and was not planning on missing it, so I got all worried. Turns out the court is not as rigid as I thought it would be....I called today to see what could be done and the lady at the Jury Commissioner's Office told me to call in the morning and just have my summons rescheduled to Monday, if need be. Whew, what a relief. Not that I want to be called into court in the first place, but at least no jail and I still get to keep my appointment.

Taking a bite out of.....Mommy and Daddy....
Jacob has developed a new "habit" of biting, really hard, this last week. He doesn't just bite. He'll chomp down with his teeth and then pull the skin hard. Daddy was in so much pain yesterday after this happened twice on his arms. Tonight Jacob did it on Daddy's shoulder, and also on Mommy's thigh. Daddy was man enough not to cry, but Mommy ended up bursting into tears and scaring Jacob. We've been telling him "no" but it doesn't seem to work so far. We'll just have to be consistently firm. What's confusing is we don't know what prompts him to bite. Is he teething? Is he just bored or stressed?

Mmm fish 'n chips!!
Mookie and I discovered a great fish 'n chips place by our house over the weekend. Believe it or not, the search came about after I had a dream the same day about eating fried calamari (!). The last time we looked for a place, it was one of those "H Salt Esq" establishments, and it sucked really bad. It sucked so bad it got closed down this year, haha. Unfortunately it was owned by fellow Koreans. Back to the present... Mookie did a search and found a place called Tugboat Fish & Chips on Blossom Hill Rd. It had some good reviews on Yelp.com so we decided to give it a try. I didn't have high expectations after what happened the last time, but boy were we surprised! Mookie said if my parents' old fish & chips restaurant was a rating of 10, then he would give Tugboat a rating of 8.5. Everything was really tasty. Tugboat is also owned by fellow Koreans, hehe. Our only gripes were the fish were not as thick and meaty as at my parents' old place, and the zucchini slices were cut razor thin. Their tarter sauce and cocktail sauce were deelicious. Would come here again! (By the way, Jacob enjoyed eating the fried fish too.)

I will need to visit a second time soon and make sure their food is consistent.

(Yahoo 360) Blogging is dead
Nobody seems to blog anymore. What's going on? Are Facebook and other networking sites taking over? Personally, I don't see what the big deal is about Facebook. It reminds me more of a popularity contest than a networking site. And I like having some anonymity out in cyberspace. What's next, Yahoo?

Baby on the way
The news is officially out now. Mookie and I are expecting our second child in August. We are very excited. We can't wait to see how Jacob will be like as a big brother. I had my first prenatal checkup in late January. Today, at about 12 weeks, I had my nuchal translucency testing done. My how things change in such a short period of time. The nuchal scan wasn't offered as a routine test when I was expecting with Jacob. Now they offer it widely.

My next prenatal visit is in a couple weeks. Hopefully by then my morning sickness (which seems to be worse at night) and fatigue will be gone. The symptoms have been much worse this time around.
