I haven't been on this page as much these days, as I spend more time on my windows live page at http://crazy4conures.spaces.live.com . I really like that site alot. It's almost like myspace, except that it's put out by microsoft. Here is a photo of me that was taken yesterday, when I went for We Energies 80th anniversary cookie book. We were allowed to have 2 books, so I had gotten a few, just in case. I'm glad that I did, as my sister-in-law said she would take the other book. It's hard for her to walk, and my brother wouldn't have stood in a line to get the book for her.

They had the 2006 book left, and they were letting you take as many of those you wanted. It would have been nice to have gotten last years book, but they didn't have any of those left. Don't have too many of the electric companies cookie books, but there's only so many cookies a person can make any way. I have an old book from 1955, that my mom used alot. One of the pages any way. I guess some of the older books are collector items now, and someone at work was telling me they are being sold on ebay. The electric company started putting out the books in 1928 or 29.

There was tons of people who went to get this years book. There was a steady flow of people, and longer lines of people then when I went. They also had hot cocoa for those who wanted it, and you could have your photo taken with a reindeer. Should have taken my camera with me to get photos of the long line of cars and people waiting to get a cookie book. There was even a cop directing traffic. He couldn't believe how many people were coming just for a book. He had made the comment to one driver, that he hoped the book was worth making the trip for, and standing in such a long line for. I'm surprised they didn't limit each person to just one book. One lady in line said there weren't that many people at last years event. So she must get all the cookie books that come out. We got to spin a wheel as well for prizes, but I didn't win anything. It was held in the parking lot of the ice center at the north end of the states fair park grounds. There was also a flea market going on some where on the states fair grounds, and a holiday folk fair, but the folk fair was going on in front of the states fair grounds, the south end, so people would have been using that parking lot if they were just coming to the other 2 events. I'm just glad that I was off this weekend to be able to go get this years book. Well, enough babbling here.
