Hi everyone, yes it actually is a blog entry by yours truly. I just wanted everyone to know I am going to stay with 360 and transition over into mash just to see what it is like. If I like it i will stay if I don't I am gone like a shot. If you want a way to stay connected to me other than here I have 2 other places you can do it at. Hi everyone I hope all is well, and I pray God has given you many blessings in my absence. Here is a lil update on Lara and I, after the computer crashing again I now have it up and running. Lara is getting ready for her finals at school and is stressed out some. I would be too dealing with one of my worst subjects.....math. Now World Lit is a different story for me since I like mythology, and some of the other things Lara has read. I am home for the week with a sprained ankle and the doctor doesn't want me on it at all. So, with us on one income I ask for everyone’s prayers that we will make our bills. Now on to the subject I am writing about.

I imagine some of y'all are wondering about the title of this blog. I decided to do this to encourage everyone to put security measures in place on your bank accounts, savings, and bills. The reason I decided to write about this is because I have a friend who went through hell, pardon the expression, when some one got his financial information. Let me give you an idea of what happened, first they got all his money from his savings accounts totaling about 10-20k dollars. Next they ran up overdrafts on his checking accounts. Needless to say for him to get this straightened out cost him in excess of 50,000 dollars plus. It also put him in a severe financial stress with bill collectors from credit card companies wanting payment for things he had not purchased.

So you maybe wondering what you can do to help prevent this from happening to you. I have three simple, but very effective steps that can prevent this and I am gonna let you know what they are.

1. Create code words for all your financial and billing accounts. What I mean by this is create code words that only you or your spouse knows; now you need to create a list of them and keep it in a secure place.

2. Create code words for the companies you get monthly bills from. Even these can be used to get your financial information, which can lead to financial problems. People can use the information to change things on your accounts, get credit cards and have you receive the bills, and much more.

3. Shred any and all paper that deals with bills and financial records of any kind you intend to throw away. The garbage is one of the easiest ways for a thief to get their hands on your information. Once you shred the information it will make it hard to almost impossible for an id thief to reassemble the information into a usable state. Also keep track of your credit ratings these will give telltale signs if someone is using your id. I hope everyone will take these steps to heart they will help you.

4. Enforce the use of the code words with all your financial and bill companies for your and their protection. What I mean is, if they give out any information without asking for your code word they can be held responsible for their actions. You placed that code word there for security and they are required to ask for it because you had it set there for that reason.
