Little baby Jordan was born on Aug. 27, 2006. Labor was easy compared to the 3 months of bedrest! I was only allowed to get up every two hours for 15 minutes at a time. I spent my time watching the world cup, disaster television (cnn) and the lebanon/Israel war, brushed up on my spanish, read, watched movies, saw friends and snuggled with my dog. I ate whatever I wanted and ultimately gained 60 pounds. Yes, 60 pounds.
I had been to the triage several times before I went into labor. My husband, brother and sister-in-law went out for sake and asian-fusion food and they all drank a little too much. I asked Scott to slow down, b/c I felt off and was afraid that I would go into labor and he'd be too hammered to drive me to the hospital. I crashed as soon as we got home and they all continued to drink until 12am when Scott came to bed. One hour later I woke up with a HUGE contraction and POP - water broke.
I woke scott and told him to pack a bag and be ready in 20 minutes to take me to the hospital. He didn't believe me and didn't move. Finally I stripped the sheets from him and yelled; "pack your F#@%ing back and take me now. We arrived at the hospital (argued the whole way there) at 1am and I was 4 centimeters dialated. The nurse told us and my husband said, "so that means your sending us home, right?" - in that I know I am right tone. The nurse looked at him, laughed and said, "Ah, no, you're here to stay."
3am epidural - wow - I felt absolutely NOTHING - scott went to bed and I at there paralized from the waist down, feeling great, until 9am. At 9am, the nurse said, "ok, 10 centimeters, time to push". 36 minutes later Jordan Sandra was born at 5 pounds, 10 ounces.
She is beautiful and is growing so fast.
Scott and I are blessed with the miracle of life - our daughter is perfect and we are thrilled that she has finally arrived.
