I went to see the Arctic Monkeys last night at the Enmore.... I was blown away!
These guys had so much energy and really knew how to get the crowd worked up. There was no pretentious outbursts, just quality fast North London rock.

The bass player and the drummer had it going on, they were a formidible team, there were some total funk moments in a few of there songs... grab the CD and check them out.

Thank god Louise was there, she was able to translate some of their norf talk ;)

I walk out completly satisfied and energised from the gig. Can't wait to see them again!

Went to see SY at the Enmore Theatre on Wednesday night. This was my first time seeing them live, so I can't really compare their performance to any other.

While all in all they came and did their thing, it just seemed a little flat to me, like they had something better to do. Didn't seem to be as much of the intensity that their albums bring... I was hoping it was going to be the other way around.

Kim just didn't seem to be there, while Thurston seemed to be having a good time and getting into it.

I'd like to see them again, maybe in their element in the US and see how it compares.

Just listening to the "Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada ep" by Godspeed You Black Emperor and everytime I listen to it, it gives me the shivers... the kinda shivers you get when you hear something that penetrates your soul. The track "Moya" is one such track, it's sooo deep and every second of the 10:51 running time is monumental.

Check it out on YMU if you can. Even better go buy it from the CD store.

Once again Kranky delivers the goods.

I've put together a playlist for one of my favourite post rock/experimental labels Kranky. These are track which I think you should hear and should serve as a good introduction to the world of Kranky.
