Entry for December 30, 2008

I am finally finished matching tombstone photos in Section 06 - HIGHLAND 3RD, Logansport Mount Hope. I have less than 500 photos to match. I will be checking for problem areas / missing photos and working on those next spring. I have added several more obituaries as well, not only to Mount Hope, but to others as well.

Ed has been working constantly on Greenlawn at Greentown, Howard County. He is trying to find as many obits as possible and I have been working with him on that.

I am working on adding obits to Center U.B. Cemetery, Cass Co. Hope to get photos of the stones in the next year.

Indian Creek Christian Cemetery (Cass Co.) now has photos of tombstones online. Thanks to Mark Brubaker and Jay Thompson. http://incass-inmiami.org/cass/cemeteries/ICC/index.html

Indian Creek Prebyterian Cemetery (Cass Co.) now has photo of tombstones online.

Stringer Cemetery was recently added to the Howard County Cemetery site. Thanks to Patricia Tracewell.

That's all I can think of for now. Here is wishing everyone a Happy New Year with lots of breaking through brick walls, good health and happiness in 2009.

Finally an update!

Hi everyone!

It's been a difficult year. Ed's mother was in the nursing home near here since the first of the year and passed away September 9th. Our cemetery work has been an escape for us at times from the realities of life. I have also had some knee problems that have kept me from doing as much as I would have liked this summer.

Regine Brindle finished photographing Peru Mount Hope and I believe I have finished matching those photos for now.

Mike Nicoll, Logansport Mount Hope's sexton has been taking lots of photographs and I am busily matching those just about every day. I am matching in Section 06 - HIGHLAND 3RD currently, so they will be in the next upload.

I have finished working on Cass Co. Corinth Brethren Church/Dillman Cemetery <http://incass-inmiami.org/cass/cemeteries/corinth/> (for now). I have added Mark Brubaker's tombstone photos and a few more obituaries.

Entry for August 29, 2008

Updates have been made to these Cass County Cemeteries since my last post.

I know that John Peck and Barb Bugher have completed Converse IOOF and sent it to Ruth Hoggatt to add to the Grant County site.

I have many projects on my computer still waiting to be completed. These will keep me busy for quite some time. I wish I could work faster on it, but it all takes time.

I still have photos to match for these cemeteries and few other small cemeteries that allude me at the moment:

  • Peru Mount Hope
  • Logansport Mount Hope
  • Corinth (Cass)
  • Grant (Cass)
  • Davis (Cass)
  • Bethlehem ME (Cass)
  • Crooked Creek Christian (Cass)
  • Crooked Creek Presbyterian (Cass)
  • Indian Creek Presbyterian (Cass)
  • Stringer (Howard)

Plus Tom has updated Howard Co. New London and Russiaville. (I promise I will get to them.)

We have family arriving from NC, TX and IL tomorrow, so that is several days of family time.

Be happy, live, laugh and love!

Blessings to all! Debby

Latest news in our cemetery ventures

In my last blog entry, I told you about the massive amount of cemetery photos we had taken over a 6 day period. Did anyone notice that I didn't say what cemetery(ies)? 869 were ones I took at Logansport Mount Hope. The rest were taken at Ever Rest Memorial Park. Ed and I have been working long hours to get the photos and data online. The new and improved database is now available at http://incass-inmiami.org/cass/cemeteries/everest/

I am also working on matching the Logansport Mount Hope photos as well as Peru Mount Hope and several others that Mark Hostetler has been sending me updates for. Sadie Cunningham is helping get these organised.

John Peck and Barb Bugher are still working on Converse I.O.O.F. which is in Grant County, but very near the Miami County line and the Miami County town of Converse.

Well, lots to do today. Have a great one!
