- Transition, Part 2
-
So, I've solved the problem with the main EM site at Tripod. It turns out that it was just a browser compatibility issue. But now there is another issue at hand. Yahoo! 360 is shutting down its operations and transitioning to its new Profile operations, which means that EM will no longer be available on Yahoo after July. While I hadn't planned specifically for this occurrence, I'm prepared for the change, and hopefully it won't cause too many problems. EM will no longer be on Yahoo, but it will still be available on three other sites: EM's main site at Tripod, plus two LiveJournal sites (EM News and EMTV). Having these three plus 360 really was a bit redundant anyway, so this just gives me the opportunity to streamline my operations. From now on, updates and news about EM will appear on the EM News site, while fiction, features, and other content will be distributed via the main EM site at Tripod and the EMTV site.
I hope this helps the transition proceed smoothly, and I sincerely appreciate your patience as I work through these issues.

- Transition
-
Due to technical issues, it seems that I'm no longer able to update EM's main site at Tripod. Therefore, I'm currently in the process of making the content available on the EM TV and EM News sites on the LiveJournal network. From now on, updates and material that would normally appear on the main EM site will instead be available on EM TV, EM News, and the various fanfiction sites.
- A New Name and a New Chapter
-
First of all, I've changed the name of my Defiant story. This story is now titled Legacy in hopes that it will more accurately reflect the direction that the story is taking. Nothing else about the story has changed besides the title.
I've also posted the latest chapter, "Assessment", on fanfiction.net.
- Fanfic Site to Close; No Explanation Given
-
I've got some sad news for all my fellow fanfiction enthusiasts. FanLib is closing down August 4, 2008. The site administrators and mods haven't given any explanation, as far as I can tell, but there are rumors of a takeover by Disney. A Disney takeover would be better than having the site shut down for good, especially if they decide to leave it in its current form.
I've only been on FanLib for about a year, but it has enjoyed heavy traffic. It has truly been one of a kind among fanfic sites. The sense of community it has fostered has remained unmatched, and the sponsored contests have been a real selling point, at least for this writer. It's the only fanfic site that I know of where writers have the chance to receive tangible rewards for practicing their craft. In my mind, sort of legitimizes the effort and work that goes along with writing fanfiction and gets the writer closer to the proprietors of their fandoms than any other fanfic site I know of. I'd thought this site was in it for the long-haul. For all I know, it could still be (just under new management).
Here's to crossing our fingers and hoping for the best!
- New Series in the Works
-
First off, the latest chapter of Fumbling, "The Bigger They Are, the Harder They Fall," is now available on the fanfic sites and on the EM site.
In addition to that, multiple sequels to Fumbling are being planned. All the stories will be connected and will prominently feature the same main characters, but they will be set in different fandoms. More on this developing story soon.
