Yes that is me still playing around in the water! Had a very good summer and have been too busy for any blogging. But hopefully as winter is starting to show its colours, I'll be back!
Missed all of you very much!
- Snowman 2007
-
I have asked for people to build me a snowman, as I have never seen snow in my life. There was only one person, who was so kind to build me this snowman! It was heart warming and very much appreciated! Having the sun all my life, I don't know what a white christmas is all about. It just amazes me to see the snow and christmas lights during christmas time in other countries. It actually makes my christmas so dull! This snowman will sit on top of my christmas tree, because: Seashell, you made a difference in my life! Enjoy the snow, and a merry christmas to you and your family, I now know at least somebody will be thinking of me during this festive time!
- River Rafting
-
River rafting on the Sabie river in SA is one huge adventure! Lucky the river calm and the rapids not to bad. Much better as when I did the tubing. Then we also did some bum sliding, now that was cool. You float on your back through the rapids, without the rafts. I had so much fun and have not laughed as much in a long time. We even had a water fight with the guides and every time I laughed, I got a mouth full of water. The river was lovely and the beauty of the nature is just not something you talk about, you have to see it. I just love summertime in South Africa!
- Sad ending!
-
Nobody knows how it happened that this abandoned baby Elephant in the Kruger National Park lost it's mother. All the visitors tried to save the little elephant, who was only more or less 5 days old. You are not allowed to get out of your car in the park, but to try and save the baby these rules were broken. They poured water on the baby to try and prevent dehydration, but the baby was totaly destressed and in pour health. The officials of the park were notified of what was happening. Although it is the parks rule of let nature go it's course, they tried to save the baby, but nothing could save the calf! What was realy sad, was all the people fighting for a view of the calf and to get the best pic out of it, causing the poor calf to be more stressed. The calf rubbed its back against some of the cars, seeking some affection. Why couldn't the cars just move on and leave the people who are trying to save the calf, wouldn't it have been better? And maybe, the calf would have stand a chance on survival! A picture is not worth having, knowing you were part of stressing out the calf just more, and then eventualy died!
- Fire in California
-
Because of the victory for the Springboks, the fires are burning high in SA to celebrate this event. I could not help thinking of the people in California, where the fires are burning a disaster. Very recently we had that experience where I live and I can imagine how those people feel! There is no words to describe the losses or make it feel better, but know that you are in our hearts and prayers! May God send you rain to put an end to the fire!
