this mutant monkey is an alteration caused by not having the same guage as the creator, and then messing up and sliding the pattern repeats by 1/2 each time. the yarn is [magic garden "Buttons" in 882] and the pattern, aside from the monkeyness, is basically generic, only i decreased at the sides instead of a standard gusset, a la the new sock book [New Pathways for Sock Knitters]!

this sock goes to Amy, but there is one on the way for Maggie, theoretically... i can't guarantee that it'll be the same pattern, i can't guarantee Amy's second sock will be anything like this... i can't even guarantee it'll fit either one!

sigh...
