- Chivalry isn't Dead..
-
I was on the way home from clinical driving in the pouring rain 20 miles from home and had a blow out-yes it was dark and I was not happy. This was on a rural Highway in MS-so no mile markers ---thank god the cell phone worked--I was stranded so I said what the heck I'll return phone calls to all Ive been needing to call back-just as I was driving a white truck pulls in -behind and I am thinking ok I hope this isnt a freak but am I glad to see someone-I am in tears by this point-this guy comes up and says "what a day to have a flat-huh?" I think I can help you-he was smiling and immediately told me his name and where he worked so, I didnt think he was Ted Bundy or something--anyhow the man helped me in the pouring down rain---told me to get in the car so I wouldnt get so wet-and he'd take care of it! HE was soaked---I still cant believe a complete stranger stopped in the evening rain to help someone-he said "Mam, I know I would want someone to help my wife under these circumstances" So there are still kind people out there, and Gentleman. So no, chivalry isn't dead or at least it isn't in Tallahatchie county,MS--I couldn't help but think of the song "A Country Boy can Survive" thank god for them--or at least I did that night-

Harvest Festival-2007
We went to Harvest Festival yesterday, MC was a cowgirl, she loves horses, but when we got to the party she refused to keep her cowgirl hat and boots on-these were compliments of her Pa-Paw ,they are both pink of course . We had a great time. She was not into the photo op either-her favorite booth was the jumping dinosaur, but she attempted to milk the cow for candy and got a balloon shaped as a dog-this is a photo of she and I at the Festival. After viewing this pic, I did get one with her cowgirl boots on-right on!

My little one was so excited to go to school yesterday-she asked "Mommy can I show My friends my boo-boo ?" I said sure if you'd like-sweet pea had taken hold of my aunt's disposable razor and wanted to shave her legs "pretty like Mommy's-"she is ok,just a small cut to her leg-she wanted to show her friends Ella Brooke and Abby- she is also in to makeup now which she calls "miracle paint" she wanted some this am , I told her she was beautiful without it---dont rush the course of things--anyhow ,its starting to fell like fall-Im actually making soup and cornbread today-and its suppose to rain-good snuggle weather-if I had someone to cuddle with-oh well,....

Life can change in a moments time. A friend of the family's wife was in pain, home with her was her daughter, who is in RN school-the pain was radiating to her shoulder and was awful-her daughter took her to the ER-she had a total dissection of her Aorta-(you medical people know how horrible this is-and the prognosis-) anyhow she is still alive and has made it through a 12 hour intense vascular surgery-at Methodist-university-Memphis-the surgeon said he gives her a 50-50 chance of survival-as of this afternoon she is in ICU and will probably be asleep for the next 24 hours-I believe they have 3 other children-her husband is a minister of music at a local church-please pray for Pam and her family-for healing and comfort- and discernment for all staff making critical decisions for her---My heart goes out to her daughter that is a nursing student-that is my ultimate nightmare as a nurse-(to have somone I love almost die in front of me :and be helpless---in the end, we all realize that it is in God's hands. Also to all you women out there ---just be aware of your family history ,and the risks factors----sometimes women just present with more vague complaints like shoulder pain, neck pain, back pain, some even think its just indigestion-and they are having a heart attack--when in doubt its best to be safe than be sorry-OK -Ill shut up and finish my school work-Everyone have a great week-
