We made it there and back safely. We had a wonderful time with my family and got way toooooo full last night. It was hard being there and not having Paw with us and not having him waiting at my Dad's for us to arrive. The kids had a wonderful time with their cousins and us adults had a great time visiting and sharing stories. We exchanged some special gifts. My step mom framed the eulogy she delivered at my grandfather's funeral for everyone, I framed the photo I fixed of Paw for everyone and my little sister gave out a precious ornament she and my 1 year old niece made with a card that read.....
"These aren't just five snowmen
As anyone can see,
I made them with my hand
Which is part of me.
Now each year when you trim the tree
You'll look back and recall
Christmas 2007
When my hand was just this small!"
And on the ornament was Grace's hand print with the fingers "dressed" like tiny little snowmen. I cried, it was just too sweet. It was already an emotional time for us all and many times through out the day we all shed a few tears out of sadness and joy. We also got a little Christmas money, which is fun. I told the kids I would take them shopping tomorrow. They want to get more fish and some games and I want some scrapbook supplies. I want to start a couple of new books. One will be a family heritage book for me and I want to start one for my Dad and step mom for next Christmas with some pictures from the past present and this coming year.
Although things went very smooth and we had a wonderful time, I am glad Christmas is over. Now I am ready for the end of May 2008.
