Optimism is the tool of great expectations...a fact proven time and again by positive results.

Things I would do with a million dollars...30% human welfare; 30% animal and wildlife causes, 30% environmental causes.

It's always interesting when the government (be it state or federal) estimates its budget for the next fiscal year. And then there's the announcement of a looming deficit. I'm always amazed at this. The government needs to run on a balanced budget which should mean not on a deficit; yet, it still manages to be run no matter what. I don't fully understand this. According to the many years of mathematics I been taught in school and college, this shouldn't even be possible. However, it is. Here's how they manage to do it...by borrowing. And when they can no longer borrow the money to run the government, they justify their actions by declaring that they need to make deep cuts in programs, services, and jobs. At the same time, newer programs, services, and jobs are introduced to replace the former ones. This is usually done on a bigger budget than before, which means there is usually the need for more funding. And the cycle continues while no one seems to understand how fiscally insane it is.

As I ponder about life, I come to realize how people have their personal limitations. I often hear about how some people have drastic meltdowns and just go ahead with their victimization of the innocent souls in their lives. Such negativity can be unhealthy and feed off itself. But enough with that point, and on with the one I'm stating: being and remaining positive can be a challenge at times, but a gentle walk with much practice. Stress doesn't have to be damaging, it can be very productive too. If you know how to apply it accordingly. Be polite and express gratitude for everything and satisfaction is a certain motivator to continue being positive. Listen to positive music and watch positive programs. Associate with positive people and more will become attracted to the positive energy. Positivity reduces stress and helps to prevent meltdowns. Convert leftover stress into motivation and your rewards will certainly keep you smiling. Now that's something to truly be thankful for.

"Ambassador of the Sea"

Come, dive for me at sunset,
Oh cherubic mermaid of beauty and wonder!
For I call upon your presence at ebb tides
To accompany me in rendez-vous,
From your fantastic world deep, down under.

Come, serenade us a lullaby at dusk,
Oh gentle peace-maker of the marine society!
And let your voice enchant the serenity
Of the evening's cordial welcome,
As it sounds a chorus of trumpets to its own arriving ecstasy.

Come, dance your waltzing ballet for us,
Oh dramatic performer of natural innocence!
Entertain us with your art of pleasure
And bless us with the measure of profound loyalty,
In giving me such great joy with your heavenly essence.

Valentine's Day is approaching, and I'm reflecting on some of my past relationships. There is one in particular I would like to restart. I don't know about it happening anytime soon but I hope sometime this year. I see this person around from time to time and always want to talk to her but I often hold back. This needs to change. The truth is, since we went our separate ways, I never forgot her and still think about her often. I didn't expect to emotionally hold on this long yet I never met anyone else like her. Anyways, I'll just enjoy being single until another opportunity arrives.

It is Autumn and it's time to harvest love on a grand scale again.  It's just about Halloween and it's time to remember our kin souls who have ascended onto the other side in peace.  It's time to confront the evils of the world with benevolence and compassion and overcome darkness with light from an ever invincible source...within ourselves, as connected to the creator of all love.  The holiday season is approaching in the coming weeks and preparation is in order to express our deepest but true feelings and thoughts about our loved ones.  It's always possible to be near in heart while distant in person, and is usually the case for many who desire to keep in touch.  Absence does indeed cause the heart to grow fonder.  However, there shall be ample opportunity to be present...in the near future...soon to be the imminent present.
