Philly cheese steak w/ fries
Not much steak but it was decent. I expected a bigger sandwich.

Special (not on the menu): T-bone steak w/ hash browns and scrambled eggs $8
A dollar more and twice the meat for the T-bone steak over the regular steak and eggs special.
Review: How can you go by the Nevada border and not try their special steak and eggs meals. Before hitting the road we stop by for breakfast and finished with a walk at the outlet next door. The steak was tender but it didn't come out medium rare like I requested.

Meaty chili bowl w/ corn bread

Flautas

Thai chicken pizza
Another vegas trip and another lunch at Grand Lux. The chili was great but didn't seem to have that kick. The thai chicken pizza was a bit salty. The flautas was the most appetizing dish. ;)

Thai boat noodle

Duck Curry

Chinese brocolli w/ chunks of pork w/ skin. The pork was not gamy and with chunks of fat, meat, and crispy skin, it was heaven.
Review: Right off the freeway next to a 7-11 liquor store and a persian restaurant is Yai. Here is an old style looking cafe where you can get great food without breaking the bank. Dishes average $6-8 per dish and everything was freshly made. I recommend the duck curry. It was creamy, full of spice and slightly spicy and sweet. The thai boat noodle was good but I had better. The broth seemed to be lacking a few spices. A bottle of Singha and great thai food hit the spot.

Review: 12 course meal for $35. How often can you find an omakase meal for $35. With no reservations, we had to wait approx. 30mins but it was well worth it. This small restaurant offers only omakase. Everything was prepared fresh and the quality was excellent. There was more food than I expected. The dishes were appetizer portions but when you finish all 12 dishes, your tummy will be satisfied.
Pros: Great comfort food at an affordable price.

Steak panini: carmelized onions + fontina $14
Review: Blue dahlia was slow for a saturday night. This location is tucked away in a small alley on 3rd street and may be hard to find. A great place to enjoy a burger w/ your favorite italian wine. They have a nice romantic setting in the patio area. The stuffed barolo braised short rib burger was amazingly delicious and more than I expected. Only thing this place is missing are french fries. The quality of the steak panini was a disappointment. The steak was tough and chewy but it had great panini bread.
Pros: Stuffed barolo braised short rib burger
