Follow along on my journey to becoming an entreprenuer. I'll make some fun detours along the way.
Hello Everyone! This blog is now closed. I've moved my jewelry site to a new, more secure setup. I'm keeping Rosalind's Roost, http://www.rosalindsroost.com .
There won't be any more posts here. I'm grateful for all the friends I've found here.
Today I purchased 5 lottery tickets. This is not something I regularly do. Normally, that $5 would go toward breakfast, or end up in my savings account. But when no one hit the MegaMillion jackpot, I had to try. If on Tuesday morning I discover I am a multi-millionaire, this is what's going to happen:
1. Hire attorney
2. Hire accountant
Hey, I listen to Suze Orman... set up will and trust. ![]()
3. Change phone number
4. Tell Mother she can have anything she wants.
5. Collect winnings. (Kinda hard to do stuff without getting the check first.)
6. Pay debts
7. Set up retirement, savings, and charitable donations
8. QUIT JOB!! There is no way I'm working for someone else ever again with that much money. If I work, it's my art or coaching.
9. Buy car
10. TRAVEL. Going back to Sedona, Los Vegas, Florida, Caribbean, maybe even London.
What would YOU do??
Happy New Year!!
No resolutions for me. Things are about to change as it is.
This week's photo is the St. Francis statue at the Chapel of the Holy Cross in Sedona AZ.
Yesterday I cleaned out an old attache case. My mother gave it to me back in high school, but I only used it once or twice. (I was a NERD already, the attache didn't help me.) So instead, I packed some items in it when I began college. A type of time capsule. Among the treasures:
2 magazine articles on Bill Murray - it was the year of "Ghostbusters" Murray was about to lauch his next movie "The Razor's Edge".
Life Magazine "Year in Pictures". Ronald Regan and Michael Jackson in the Oval Office. Talk about a good laugh!
An Ebony Magazine with Eddie Murphy on the cover. Must of been my "crush of the month".
I also found a copy of an Ann Landers column. It's titled, "Young People's Bill of Responsibilities." There are three that apply to we "Broke and Fabulous" self-coaching.
1. Take care of my mind, body and spirit.
2.Obey the laws of society and live in harmony with others
3. Keep in mind that I was not put on this earth to amuse myself or simply enjoy the fruits of the labors of others. I shall endeavor to be of service to my fellow man and leave the world a better place than I found it.
What are you doing to take care of mind, body, and spirit?
Have a great week!
This week's photo is the Hopi ceiling inside the Watchtower at the Grand Canyon.
Spent a little time searching other blogs. Some are cool, some silly. One blog created by a Bhuddist monk intrigued me. If I weren't a Christian, I'd be a Bhuddist. Something about being aware and that we are really all one interests me. Maybe I'll look into that more.
On the coaching front, the lesson for the week is:
Write down what you want to earn in the next 12 months. Aim high!
Write down why you want to earn that amount.
Here's my response:
In the next 12 months I will earn $50,000.
This amount will pay for my education, and allow me to put more aside for retirement.
What's your answer?
Have a great week!
