RE-ELECT NOBODY!

RE-ELECT NOBODY!

Worthy of your time and attention & regardless of your Party Affiliation

545 PEOPLE

By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy con vincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.

If the Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in IRAQ .

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like 'the economy,' 'inflation,' or 'politics' that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

Charlie Reese is a former columnist of the Orlando Sentinel Newspaper.

What you do with this article now that you have read it is up to you, though you appear to have several choices.

1. You can send this to everyone in your address book, and hope they do something about it.

2. You can agree to vote against everyone that is currently in office, knowing that the process will take several years.

3. You can decide to run for office yourself and agree to do the job properly.

4. Lastly, you can sit back and do nothing, or re-elect the current bunch.

YOU DECIDE, BUT AT LEAST SEND IT TO EVERYONE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK, MAYBE SOMEONE IN THERE WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Sin
Who has sinned? The Bible clearly states that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. And sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. (Romans 3:23 and James 1:15) The psalmist David reenforced this truth when he said, "There is none the doeth good, no not one. " (Psalm 53:3)

Because of one man's disobedience, many were made sinners. (Romans 5:19) Adam and Eve disobeyed God, and sin came into the world. As all sin must be punished, Adam and Eve were driven from their beautiful home, the Garden of Eden. All mankind everywhere must also suffer their other punishments, too, which included suffering, toil, and finally, death.

Yes, because of sin, death was introduced, But when Jesus Christ suffered death on the cross for our sins, He arose the third day, conquering death, hell and the grave. He arose as a victorious Christ! No more would Satan have dominion over death and the grave. Jesus suffered the atonement that we might have eternal life. He literally redeemed us from Satan by His supreme sacrifice.

Who was Jesus?
The four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, each tell the thrilling story of the life of Jesus Christ for all men everywhere. Just who was this man who captivated so much attention as He walked the shores of Galilee, healing the sick, preaching in the villages, and teaching about a kingdom that was to come? How fortunate that we know Jesus was "God manifested in the flesh." (I Timothy 3:16) How wonderful to know the real reason for the remarkable power to do miracles.

In the Gospels you can read to find out how Jesus called His disciples and how they left all to follow Him. You can also realize that Jesus expects us to be led by His Spirit and follow His examples and teachings.

As you read, you will understand the real reason Jesus came to earth, which was to call sinners to repentance. (Mark 2:17) God expects us to share in His ministry by loving others and helping them to find reality in serving Jesus Christ. We can help others understand that the One True God can and will help them as they help others. This is a sharing ministry. There is no room for selfishness.

Do you understand the true nature of Jesus Christ? How did He do the healings and miracles that He did? Because God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself. (2 Corinthians 5:19) When Jesus was questioning His followers, asking, "Whom do men say that I, the Son of man am?" The answered in many ways, such as, "Some say you are John the Baptist; some Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets." But Jesus was much more specific. He said, "But whom do you say that I am?"

Simon Peter answered and said, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) Jesus answered and said, "Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona; for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father, which is in heaven." (Matthew 16:17)

Then Jesus gave Peter the keys to the kingdom of heaven. From that time, He told His disciples of the things that were to happen to Him in the near future. Peter was later to use the keys or authority given him on that day by Jesus Christ as he preached on the Day of Pentecost and established the Church of the living God.

Who was Jesus Christ? What did Isaiah say about Him? Isaiah did not know God's real name, but he prophesied and said, "His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace." Isaiah also pointed out that His name would be called Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Jesus was really God, clothed in human flesh and dwelling among us. He who knew no sin found it necessary to share our grief and sorrow, so that He might pay the debt we owed for our sins. Only then, through sinless sacrifice, could we be brought back into perfect fellowship and harmony with God. All mortals had their sin debt "paid in full" once and for all by Jesus' death on the cross. This great and tragic event marked the end of an era in history. No more must we offer sacrifices once a year for out sins. Jesus paid the supreme sacrifice, and He did it willingly.

What is the Bible?
The Bible is truth. The scripture says, "Thy word is truth" (John 17:17) It is the inspired Word of God. These are not words of men's wisdom, but the prophesy came when holy men of old were moved by the Holy Ghost to speak and write.

The Bible is a complete library of books! There are sixty-six books in all. These are divided into the Old and New Testaments. The word "Testament" means "Covenant," and is a word by which God designates the relationship between Himself and His people.

In the Old Testament we find thirty-nine books. There are many exciting stories about God's wonderful creation and fellowship in the Garden of Eden. In the Book of Genesis we learn that man fell in sin and was driven from the garden, separated from perfect communion with God. Many exciting and sometimes horrible consequences happened to man because of the original sin. You will read about these in the first books of the Bible.

The Old Testament contains the calling and history of the Jewish nation. God's chosen people had many wonderful leaders who were devoted to God's cause and fully dependent upon Him. You will read of the fantastic feats of Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David, and many others. Study their lives and accomplishments. Find out what motivated them to do the things they did. What great "cause" did each of them love most of all? Who was uppermost in their hearts and minds at all times? Were they ever selfish in their motives? Were they unkind to others? Study the characteristics of a good leader as you read the true thrilling accounts of Jewish "great" men in the Old Testament. Then ask yourself this question, "How can this character help me to become a better Christian?"

Because of his separation from God and his knowledge of sin, man needed a savior. Only one who knew no sin could pay the supreme sacrifice for our salvation and buy us back from Satan.

The prophets of the Old Testament often spoke of the coming Messiah, as they preached to the Jewish nation. Joel and Isaiah were the ones who spoke out most frequently Joel said, "and it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. " (Joel 2:28) Peter used Joel's prophecy on the Day of Pentecost when he said, "This is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel." (Acts 2)
