Sayonara

I've lost count on how many times I've played the hokie pokie game here in 360 land coming and going. Saying I'm staying, then leaving ,then coming back... blah blah blah.

Well I finally figured out what I've been missing. It's blogging. My type of blogging. I do miss the network of friends, and the banter between each other's pages, but I'm not willing to sit around and wait for something to pan out.

I've channeled my energies into a new blog I created, and so far I like what I've been doing.

I'm gonna pitch my tent on my new adventure and wave good-bye to all my dear friends here in 360.

I do hope Yah@# makes up there F@#'n mind about what they want and what they want to do with this empty shell of a blogging network for everyone else's sake.

If you find the time, or have the interest here is my newest venture in blogging.

Take care of yourselves and yours.

Having a Social

So how social are you these days in the world of the social web 2.0. Or is it 2.1.. or eehh 3.0 these days? The nomenclature seems to change as fast as the net itself. We've gone from simply HTML sites ... to the advanced XML, CSS and beyond these days that I have trouble keeping up.

I'm what you call a tech-wannabe. I love the Internet.. everything from the cool gadgets to the convenience factor of getting just about anything and everything you want right from the comfort of your computer screen.. whether that is from home or work!

I try to keep up these days with the latest and greatest 'internet movement'. A couple years ago.. the blog made it's debut.. or should I say became popular. I dabbled here and there. Then the social networking craze. I dabble there as well.. and made a home with Yahoo 360. (we all know how that turned out these days)

I seem to have my fingers in just about every 'mashed-up' internet savvy application out there. Waiting to see what hit's next and enjoying the ride.

I miss my 360. If you've read my blogs before... you've heard me rant. I'm still waiting for the Micro-hoo bubble to burst.

These days I'm trying out the new news aggregate readers (bloglines is my favorite) as well as the social network aggregators (everything from FriendFeed to Profilactic)

Step in... the microblogger's.

Seems that one application for a new service is simply not enough. Now instead of blogging.. we have microblogging. The shortened version posting blogs. And of course their are multiple platforms with multiple options.

There is Jaiku. The microbloggin' platform that is still in 'beta' testing. So even if you wanted to try it out... sorry. I've tried numerous times to get an invite to give it a go. I'm still waiting on the invite.

Then there is Pownce. Yet another platform that boasts being able to do more than just post text, but also pictures and links, as well as share files and upcoming events.

And last but not least.. is the infamous Twitter. This was the grandfather of all the micrbloggin platforms if I'm not mistaken. In fact.. I believe it's a couple years old??? And just now started taking off?

You can add pics to twitter.. but the big push for twitter is the ability to not only post from the web, but also your mobile phone.. or if your feeling froggy.. there are numerous third party applications that you can use to post to your twitter account. (twhirl, twitterific, etc)

It's quite the craze these days apparently. But only to the techie world. LOL It seems most of the public is more aware of Facebook and other social networking sites.. than they are of Twitter and others.

Twitter has become popular enough to spawn how-to videos. Heh heh. As well as multiple fan-based and client based blogs.

I myself tweet. Yes, that's the term used for posting to your twitter account. But I'm not very flashy with it. I post boring news articles.. and updates with my blog.. but nothing real exciting.

In my opinion its basically the next stage from Instant Messaging and Text Messaging. I king of conglomerate of sorts.

So tell me.. do you tweet? Or do you Pownce? (if that is even a term).

Come find me and follow me... on twitter if your feeling crazy these days.

Take care of yourselves and yours.

Being happy does not have to be expensive

It will however take some effort and creativity.

Money does not buy you happiness, but it sure does make the journey a whole heck of a lot easier.

So what makes you happy? If it's the finer things in life.. then maybe this is the wrong post to be reading.. Heh heh.

The key here being, find out what makes you happy. Is it your hobbies, is it your interests, is it friends & family, is it work? What every it may be.. find it.. and then enhance it!

If your happiness is spending time with family and/or friends. Then start to schedule some events.. plan a couple outings. Make sure you keep in touch with what's going on in their lives. Become involved.

If it's your hobbies, make time for them. Schedule time for just you and your hobby at least 1-3 times per week.

The bottom line is, happiness is a state of mind, not a situational result. Choose your happiness, and choose to have more of those moments when you are your happiest.

Enjoy being happy. Because once you find your happiness, and can repeat the feeling and the flavour... it becomes an addicting habit! And like all other influences, your happiness will rub off onto those around you.. and before you know it.. your happy more often than not.

So how expensive is that?

No one can make you feel bad without your help

Yeah right.

C'mon is it really that simple. How in the world can someone's action only be effective if you help them?

Hmm. Yes it really is this simple. It's a simple choice. Remember it's not what happens to you that matters so much as to how you react to it. It's your reaction that is the catalyst for you state of mind and your feelings toward the whole scenario.

Here's a thought. The next time someone tries to 'guilt' you into something. Stop and think about the actual action. Am I going to allow this to hurt me? Allow this to make me sad? Allow this to ruin my attitude for the day?

Irregardless if what is being said is true or not.. it's how you react to it that counts. Are you going to internalize it and let it eat you up inside.. therefore ruining all your chances of having a pleasant and happy moment. Or do you consume the information as an experience. Accept it for what it is and learn from it. Accept your fault or accept someone else's fault and decide what you want to learn from it, to adapt and be better for the next situation that arises.

Any experience, good or bad, you will learn something. And any learning experience is a GOOD experience.
