This is my second-last finished work : I posted good old Bill's Portrait in first as I usually work on two paintings at a time ad I wanted to show it as a WIP, and so I didn't want to ruin its continuity ... but then forgot about posting this one ! It is called "The Old Mill in the Valley " and it is dedicated to my area where there are a lot of dismissed old water mills . This mill is one of the only working ones left as it still grinds corn flour . I painted this one particularly for a friend of mine who wants to display it in her shop window : and next week I will lend it to her together with "Bright Twilight " for that purpose . The vanes of the mill where particularly difficult to render in perspective , but I thnk I have done a rather good job after all !

I had actually photographed several old mills in my area before choosing this reference , which seemed to me less banal as it sort of invites you to its sight from a small courtyard .

Here it is ... Finished at last and in a bigger photograph as I had taken it home last Saturday ... my daughter , whom I gave it to ...liked it very much ! I just had all the hrness part to pull out as it was , there , just waiting after a model-session Saturday !

I think I'll finish it tomrorrow if I can ... this is a bigger photo at last..!

After a morning 's work at the painting workshop I took a further photo of good old Bills Borrego's portrait ! I am now working on the texture of the horse's coat .
