Ice Skating European Championships - 2007
Ice Skating European Championships - 2007 magnify
I shall be gone for a week...I am going to see the EC in Warsaw, Poland.

Unfortunately my favourite skater , Stephane Lambiel (photo) announced 4 days ago that he will not be participating. Apparently he has lost his motivation, his "inner fire", even though he is only 21. I had been looking forward to seeing him ever since we bought the tickets back in September.
However, we are determined to have a great time anyway!

So...y'all take care

Joy's "hair"...
Joy's "hair"... magnify
is finally long enough to tie up :)

Our little Yorkshire terrier is the bravest dog...yesterday the doctor pulled 10(!) of his teeth out and within an hour he was already ready to play.

The reason we had to do this is that she had two rows of teeth (he never lost his baby teeth) and he risked losing all of them if we had waited some more.

He is a real trooper!

Crushes and spells
I wonder how many crushes does an average human have during his/her lifetime. Ever since I was about 8, I can always remember liking some boy. The first time I ever liked a classmate I showed it by making him cry. Not very nice, I know. And even though I have had tons of crushes in my 25 years on this planet, I've only been in love twice. I believe it is so easy sometimes to confuse a crush with true love. However, I believe you cannot experience true love unless the other person is in love with you as well. This song is the ultimate crush song, I love it and just wanted to share it. A special dedication to those who are daydreaming about someone and wish they could put a spell on them :)

Rapist leaders
Rapist leaders magnify
Why is it that rape still seems funny to some men (worryingly to some world leaders as well)? Is it not bad enough that men in such high positions get charged with such a horrendous crime (you know the old saying...no smoke without a fire)? Is there really a need to joke about it?

I wonder what jokes would he have made  if he had been the one being raped.

"Russia's President Vladimir Putin has been overheard joking about the virility of his Israeli counterpart, who is accused of multiple rape.

A Russian journalist said Mr Putin joked that President Moshe Katsav was a "mighty man", adding "we all envy him".

Mr Katsav is facing allegations that he raped members of his staff. He strongly denies the claims.

A Kremlin spokesman admitted Mr Putin made a joke, but said it was not meant to be overheard.

Mr Putin's comment was made at the end of a press conference held by Mr Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in Moscow, which focused mainly on the Iran crisis.

As the leaders prepared to leave, the microphone caught Mr Putin saying "greetings to your president".

The microphone then went dead, but journalist Andrei Kolesnikov told the BBC he heard the rest of the comment.

He said the president continued: "What a mighty man he turns out to be! He raped 10 women - I would never have expected this from him. He surprised us all - we all envy him!"

There reportedly followed loud laughter among the official delegations.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov admitted: "Yes really, these words were pronounced."

But he said it "in no way means that President Putin welcomes rape".

"The president was joking," he told the BBC's World Today radio programme.

"Russian is a very complicated language, sometimes it is very sensitive from the point of view of phrasing.

"I don't think that the proper translation is able to reflect the meaning of the joke."

Israeli police have said there is enough evidence to charge Mr Katsav, 60, over allegations of "rape, forced sexual acts, sexual acts without consent and sexual harassment". "

Yet another tragic loss
Yet another tragic loss magnify
I couldn't quite believe it when I heard the news that Paul Hunter, one of the most gifted snooker players, died on October 9. He would have been 28 on the 14th of this month.

I used to watch him play when I was at University in England and him and Ronnie O'Sullivan were always my favourites.  He will be greatly missed.

May he rest in peace.
