This little guy is my first grandchild,......my son called me this morning and we talked a bit and my son put the little feller on the phone and he was actually trying to talk to me..........I'm so proud of my son and grandson,.......my daughter too for sure but she doesn't have any kids yet......in any case, my son is back from his first tour of duty and he got to go back to Texas and take my grandson with him and his girlfriend to meet "PAPA".....that's my adopted dad.........Dad is now 82 years old so I don't think he's gotten the benefit of sanity enough to appreciate a grandchild or great grandchild..........oh well

At 12:25pm on November 28th 2008 I got a grandson, His name is "Austin Patterson" the offspring of my son and his gal Renee......this photo is from a cell phone that was first transmitted to a classifed position close to Pakistan to the USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71 ( THE BIG STICK ) and then it was E-mailed to me by the proud father "my son" Michael Patterson.......He wieghed in at 8 pounds 7 oz one week ago but just moments ago I just got an E-mail that it was really 8 pounds 1 oz and 20 & one half inch long. just about the same size Michael was when he was born back when dinosaurs roamed ( hahaha Michael, now your kid will say that about you)....My son asked me how it feels to be a grandfather and I just can't seem to find the words,.....Happy?...not even close,.....ecstatic?...near but not on the money,......proud? well.uhhhhhhh yeah......but none of that sez it exactly......Yes I'm thrilled, but I'm thrilled for him and his gal and for my ex wife and my daughter and everyone else I know including my foul acting adopted father........I just wish my adopted mother had lived long enough to see this cuz she'd be peein all over herself with happiness......Look down from heaven Mom,.......you're a great gramma now. The next rainbow I see will be named "Austin" Patterson.

Ya know?....I've been trying for 4 years now to get my SSDI, I went last sunday morning to portland OHSU hospital for a 5 day hospital stay to have this test done. We left home at midnight on Monday and it took 3 hours to get there so we were early and went to a Denny's to get breakfast and we stayed there for 3 hours and then we left to go to the hospital and we got lost for another 3 hours just in the downtown area of Portland,....man o man is it a huge town. we asked directions for 12 people and none of them knew where we were trying to go.....Finally we got there a half hour late and we checked in and ten minutes later i was whisked away to my room. Now for those of you who have a fear of hieghts, let me tell you, that the hospital sits atop a 900 foot cliff and my room was on the 10th floor and wouldn't you know it?.....I had a panaramic window onto downtown Portland.....Just Great. so here we go with the proceedure. First they attach 40 wires to my head, slap me in a bed in front of a video camera, bring me food at my whim ( slightly above average hospital food)....make me stay awake for two 60 hour stints to see if I have a siezure.........Actually it was kinda cool, the nurses, doctors and techs treated us like gold, both Lisa and myself........they gave me morphine for my hip pain, made sure I was happy and tried all the time to make me smile....There was a point that I got kinda angry about not being able to sleep, this was caught on tape and so the doctors came in and said i could sleep for 4 hours (Gee thanks) but I did sleep the 4 hours and then went another 60 hours without sleep. They did find for certain that I have epilepsy and that I have always had it but it has just in the past 5 years turned into siezures instead of migraines. Well now I know something I already knew but didn't know I knew. I'm semi- happy about all this but they have now scheduled me for another sleep test at the same hospital near christmas time..........All in all I suggest this hospital to anyone who needs a long period medical test.......the photo?.....oh thats me in my frankenstein get up. I had two of the funniest nurses, Emily (an oreiental woman with a laugh that makes everyone else laugh) and another nurse named Yu N HangTran (We N Hang Trane)....My neurologists were great, one was a Romanian guy and the other a young white guy, I think they were playing good cop bed cop as some kind of routine,....quite humorous.

A date which will live in infamy? or what?

Hey y'all,

The people have done the deed,....we have a new dude in office. despite whether or not you voted for Mc Cain or Obama, you have to admit that this date will live as one of the greatest of historical events. There are only 3 other dates with mearly as much histiricla significance:, Slavery abolished, the dropping of the atomich bomb on Japan in world war two and suppsoedly landing a man on the moon. If you compare historical events :

The American revoloution, the civil war, invention of electricity, the railroad, the invention of electricity, the telegraph, the phonograph, the telephone, radio, the car, the plane, World War 1, world war 2, Korean war, the computer, The assasination of John Kennedy, Martin Luther King, the Vietnamese war, Mr. coffee, the microwave oven, the cell phone, and all the other creap that has come to the forefront of society, and then came George Bush jr....The election of Barack Obama is indeed great. On the other hand,....apparently the people would rather have a mulato man as president than an old white guy and a young pretty white gal.......what does that say about our country?.......you gals ought to be feeling a bit miffed eh?........Now, look at this fact: History dictates that events in history occur over and over. This suggests that Barack Obama might have a hard time getting to office even after he is elected or that he will have an incredibly hard tme staying alive once he's in office....There have been a handful of assainations of presidents because certain groups didn't like the outcome of an election. One of those events was the assasination of Abe Lincoln in which was a main factor being that Abe freed the slaves. Then was John kennedy over his sort of liberal views on socail standards among other things. Martin Luther king because he was a Black leader who had some power. If history has anything to say about this event of yesterday, then Obama will be playin "Look over my shoulder" just to stay safe. Or,......he'll be the first black-ish man ever to serve as president. I'd of thought that Jeesee jackson would come before Obama and yet I was wrong. so either this is the issuance of a competely different type of America or it will be just a repeat of history once again and after all,....Obama does have a white vice president at his side. I hope this next four years goes without a catch, without an assasination and without anymore Bush. I have imaginings thought that theres gonna be some very dictinct Bush leftovers that we'll have a hard time overcoming.
