Its been 8 months since I left Yahoo and that went really fast! We announced the deal with our first major customer, The Associated Press, yesterday. Feels good to see the fruits of slogging your butt out for an extended period of time. Given that I am new to the whole start-up world, its been awesome fun and a very good learning experience technically.

AP Deal Announcement

I am leaving Yahoo to join a start-up called Attributor starting September 18th.  It is based out of  Redwood City(15 miles north of Sunnyvale).  I'll be joining the founding team to lead the middle-tier and frontend efforts in building the application from ground up. 

It really sucks to leave such a world-class group of people at Y! and a kick ass company.  This has got to be one of the toughest decisions of my life to leave  Yahoo when everything is just so great.   One of the main factors in my decision was that I feel this is right time in my life when I can take that element of 'risk' and the leap.

I feel I was really fortunate to be at the right place at the right time to work on 2 major initiatives during my 1 year at Yahoo!,  the work on personal assistant and performance tuning on the new Yahoo! frontpage and one more.  (It is still in stealth. Watch out :) ). The amount of things I have learnt by being amongst some of the best brains in the world is just phenomenal!  I am going to miss the people, the free cappuccinos and lattes and volleyball (damn!)  so much.

Thanks to all my peers and superiors who gave me the opportunities and support during the last year. Also, thanks to everyone who adviced and supported me during this whole process.

This piece of tango has the quality to lift your spirits up when you are feeling down or just frustrated! Love it!

The $40 that I paid for the radioshack inverter to convert 12V car DC upto 155v of AC power is well worth it. It goes into the car cigarette lighter outlet and I don't have to worry about carrying a car charger for any of my devices. ipod, cell phone, laptop, camcorder etc. There are different  variants which give out different watts of power (70, 120, 140, 150, 300 etc). I think a 9' TV needs 300w of power. 150w should be good enough for eveything else except TV. The only thing that I noticed is a hissing noise (because of interference I guess?) when trying to transmit ipod songs on to the car stereo while charging.
