I'm not sure why, other than the fact that I've been focusing so much on work, on any opportunity to be dressed and to go out to hang with friends or to make new ones, and on wondering whether or not there are any decent guys who are really interested in a special girl. I just haven't taken the time to write anything here on 360.

Oh, I can think of lots of excuses (like above), but when it comes down to it, it's difficult to write something if there isn't much of anything good to say. Outside of enjoying the dual life (most times not as much as I like) and the time I do get to spend with my good friends, there hasn't been a whole lot to talk about. I'm still doing what I can to try and raise awareness and participation for the community where I live although I am finding it's a much more difficult task in what amounts to a suburbanized city of roughly 1,000,000 people.

The issue remains...why don't more girls and guys get out and about in our local community. I guess it comes down to that subrubanized living. So many remain closeted for various reasons and I assume that it's because suburban family life keeps them from exploring things further. For example, in our wonderful climate where it can be shorts weather for a majority of the year, someone might find it hard to explain at a family or company picnic why they have shaved legs. Not to mention that people are afraid they will be recognized if they go to some establishment that is slightly or more off of their typical social background.

I've adopted a little more of the "who gives a damn what they think" philosophy lately although I am still a bit cautious. As with others, there are good reasons, but the places I go aren't likely to provide many such opportunities that someone might know him versus her. Even if they did, I think the only ones that I would want to shield from any negative aspects that might raise, would be innocent family members. So, I do understand why folks remain more closeted. Oh how I do wish it was different.

Alas, it isn't so and I can only hope that it would be different and continue to do what I can to open up others eyes and the opportunities for those who are comfortable to venture out and about. I know that since I have done so, I have expanded my own horizons and met many very good people along the way. So, what's stopping you?

Here it is, damn near the end of summer. It's been pretty darned good for the most part. I've been able to enjoy spending time with my friends and getting out exploring local places for us girls to meet and for others to meet us girls. We're not the Mecca-type of location as our friends up on the tip of the peninsula, but there is a pretty good sized community down here in the south bay. It's just too bad that so many are closeted in their activities and I wish that they felt more comfortable so that they could enjoy and share in the great friendships that can be developed.

We've enjoyed birthday celebrations, BBQs, simple gatherings of friends and much more this summer and I hope that the trend will continue throughout the rest of the year. For me, I've been and will be fairly busy with work until the fall and try not to let it keep me from having fun and enjoying time with my friends when I can. It just might be a little less for the time being. But once things have slowed down a bit with work activities, I plan on seeing what I can do to enjoy my time as a special lady more often.
