The ins and outs of ups and downs...
We are all posting funny cat pictures.
When Tempusst was a little guy, he was a lot like this!
I’ve been thinking about Ariel a lot lately.
I do it because I know that Kate is concerned for Ariel’s welfare.
Ariel is a year old and still likes kitten food. She still does kitten-y things like chasing her tail, chasing other cats and sometimes she gets full of the bitey.
I know that Kate has given up on the idea that Ariel harbors the genetic pooling of the Maine Coon Cat, but I’m not so sure.
Ariel is a late-bloomer, I think.
That reminds me. I need to ask Kate to run Disney’s Mulan for Ariel again. Ariel just loves that horse!
I’m feeling much better now that the bad teeth are out of my head.
I’ve been catching up with all my Kitty-to-do’s. I’ve been bossing the other cats around, chasing Tempusst up and down the hallway, hunting high and low and sharing my good spirits with anyone who will let me sit on them.
Kate’s happy. Scott’s happy. But most importantly, *I* am happy!
And, frankly, from a cat’s perspective, I am what it’s all about!
For Christmas I brought Kate a cat-toy just like the old days. She was really happy about it. She even played with it like I showed her how years ago.
I was so proud. I’m telling you! I can pick the good people to live with!
Anyway, things are great!
Last night, Katy uncharacteristically forgot to put out cat food.
This morning, I noticed that the water dish and pet fountain were gone, too!
I should have known something was afoot!
At eight o’clock I went for a ride in the car. I hate rides in the car. I hate being in the cat carrier. There is no part of travel that I enjoy. I’m content to stay at home, thank you.
But nooooooooooo! Today we just HAD to go to the vet!
Luckily, Dr. Swinson and Kyle-the-amazing-cat-wrangler had time for me. They are a dynamic duo!
I was the first pet of several to have a dental cleaning.
They shaved parts of my legs to insert a catheter. Now I have this cool rockstar cat hair cut. I bet it’s only a matter of time before it becomes al the rage in with all the well-dressed cats!
I took a really good nap and woke up in a place that wasn’t my house. I watched the in-flight movie of a spaniel, (His name was Clancy) getting his teeth cleaned. I’m pretty sure that Dr. Swinson speaks “cat-onese.” I kept explaining that I didn’t belong here and she kept reassuring me that it was only a matter of time before I’d go home.
Kate came to get me ten minutes early. (The lady is crazy about me! ‘She has been my biggest fan for years and years!) The vet let me leave after they talked. Kate was very happy about the cost of the procedure and told me that Santa Paws just might have a new rustic cat tree for me if I’m very good.
I’m kinda tired right now.
When I got home, I went straight to the food dish and tried my favorite kibble. Big mistake! Luckily, Kate had put down some fresh soft foods for me. I’ve heard her say that she plans to pick up some yummy new soft foods tonight after work.
Kate had a rough night last night, and no nap. I can see that my work is cut out for me.
That girl’s gotta go to bed early tonight. I bet she’s really tired. I’ll hem her under the covers as soon as I possibly can!
I gotta take care of my human!Scott came and picked me up today and we went for a drive!
I seriously hate travel of every sort unless my feet are involved.
We went to see Dr. Swinson. I like Dr. Swinson. She’s very nice to me and I know that she understands cats better than most. She’s a cat parent herself! In fact, I think Kate has a picture of Dr. Swinson’s cat somewhere because Ariel bunked with that cat once.
Anyway, Dr. Swinson took blood because they are planning on cleaning my teeth.
My teeth have been hurting for a while now so I’m kind of glad that Kate and Scott are going to pay for this very expensive procedure.
I know how much Kate and Scott love me. I just wish they didn’t have to drive me to the vet!
Tomorrow I will know if I am healthy enough, at 17, to have the surgery done.
Wow, I hope this works!
