Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of Passage?
His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him and leaves him alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it.
He cannot cry out for help to anyone. Once he survives the night, he is a MAN. He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own.
The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him. Maybe even some human might do him harm. The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man!
Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold. It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the stump next to him. He had been at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm.
We, too, are never alone. Even when we don't know it, God is watching over us, sitting on the stump beside us. When trouble comes, all we have to do is reach out to Him.
If you liked this story, pass it on. If not, you took off your blindfold before dawn. Moral of the story: Just because you can't see God, doesn't mean He is not there. 'For we walk by faith, not by sight.'
Seven days without God, makes one 'weak'
JAMAICA is the land of my ancestry and HERITAGE!!!
This is the first time back in as many years!
This trip will be a very nostalgic one, as this year we celebrate the centennial birth of my GRAND MOTHER affectionately known as "MAMA"!
GOD has BLESSED HER with 100 years of LIFE, and for that I am eternally grateful. I got the opportunity to spend time with this BEAUTIFUL SPIRIT that He put on this earth to birth my MOTHER and her 7 other siblings.
I look forward to see her face with her children, grand children, great grand children, and possibly great great grand children are before her, celebrating HER!!!
Thank you GOD for granting me this opportunity!!
What a BLESSED TIME THIS WILL BE!!!
Amen!

If you woke up this morning
If you have never experienced
If you attend a church meeting
If you have food in your refrigerator,
If you have money in the bank,
If your parents are still married and alive,
If you hold up your head with a smile
If you can hold someone's hand, hug them
If you can read this message,
You are so blessed in ways |

If you are feeling blessed, repay the blessings bestowed unto you and do something for others.
A blessing cannot be kept. If it stops with you, then the blessing will disappear. The blessing will only keep working if it is continuously passed around. If you are a recipient of a blessing, keep the blessing working by being the source of blessing to other people. |
