Well the chicken ark has been almost been completed - I need to stain a few boards and decide if I want to put wire down on the bottom. Right now, I am thinking its good to go - but eh. Who knows. The boys, Pip and Poppy are loving the larger pen and their loft. They haven't quite mastered the ladder, but in time, I am sure they will figure it out. We are still looking for some hens for them - seems they are harder to come by than I thought.
The Herbary is growing each day - thankfully we have been getting the weeds under control. The plant shelves are filling up, and the gallon lavenders are looking great with lots of new growth. This upcoming weekend will be busy for us - the PSU Farmers Market as well as St. Helens Master Gardener Sale, and Penny will be holding down the fort at the Herbary.
Crazy times, I will be looking forward to relaxing on sunday! Hopefully the weather will continue to hold, and be nice!
Have a great week!

New babies at the Herbary!
So I decided that mom deserved a treat - and well, they were really really cute, so its a win win situation!
Introducing the new members of our family - 2 Serama Roosters! We haven't come up with a name for them yet, but will post as soon as we do. Come on out and meet the new members!

Despite a windy, rainy weekend, the cherry tree is still covered with white flowers. The walkway by the greenhouse looks like a smattering of snow. This tree has been hacked on time after time, and just recently has come into its own. Its a beautiful tree, and gives the dogs plenty of shade during the summer.
The weekend was a good one! The PSU Farmers Market had a good turn out despite the constant RAIN. Lots of new customers and old came out to visit at the Herbary. The greenhouse is filling up, as are the shelves. Its nice to have the shelves clean and straight! Spring has certainly sprung!

The Chinese forsythia is in full bloom right now -- and it sure looks sunny on a grey day. The garden is slowly coming out of its winter sleep. We lost most of our larger Rosemarys this winter. The Mediterranean garden got hit hard, but our beds were so established and over grown, its sorta nice to be able to redo them. Penny is excited, as she just loves finding new funky plants for our garden.
Hope it warms up a bit more - I am getting ready to weed and add some new mulch, but need to make sure that everyone that is coming to the party has arrived!

Lazy dog days of spring... or in this case. lazy kitty days of spring. Lewis is taking advantage of the warm sun in the Fairy bed. The plants are SLOWLY coming up, still a bit cold here on the island. The primroses are peaking out, and the roses are beginning to bud.
Lots of projects going on right now. I am about finished redoing the plants shelves. I am putting in a foundation and filling with gravel so the shelves aren't so tippy. It looks a bit cleaner, and a lot more stable. The greenhouse is filling up quite nicely with plants.
The first weekend at PSU Farmers Market was a great success. It turned out to be a nice day after all, with only a few rain sprinkles. The turn out was big, I heard about 9200 attendees! Wow! It was fun to see a lot of familiar folks. My tent is located on the side aisle by Cramer and Smith, I am right next to the famous tart lady from Hood River. Boy are they tasty! I am also near Peterkort Roses! To see where I am located - check here. I am stall number 5 -
