Just some random thoughts and stories of my oh so exciting life!
It has been a year since I have last blogged on this page. Normally, I would be getting ready for our NSB trip that we take each June, but so much has changed this year.
I was laid off for the first time in my entire working career from HMC. I had a hysterectomy the very next day which was way over due. The Dr. got in and couldn't believe the mess he found in my stomach, had to call an extra surgeon in and took almost 3 hours longer than expected. The recovery time was hopefully only going to be 2 to 3 weeks, but it turned in to a grueling 8 weeks.
I finally got signed up on unemployment, enrolled in school again to hopefully finish up my Medical Assistant degree. I go for my interview to see if I am one of the lucky 20 students to get accepted in the program this summer. Say a prayer please!
Softball season has once again started and my oldest daughters team is the Her-icanes! They had an undefeated season until 2 games ago where they lost by 1 point. That's okay, I think it just makes them want it more.
Mother's Day was this past Sunday and I hope all you wonderful mothers out there got everything you wanted and it was a happy one. My Mother's Day was a little stressed this year, but turned out okay. The day before we had a softball tourny in Rossville that took just about the whole day. Usually, we spend one day with my mama, the next with Ants mom. Well the tourny put a jam in that so we had to improvise a little. I went to church with Ant's mom and grandmother than after my girls and hubby went to be with his mom & I went to take my mama and my aunt to put flowers on my grandmother/their mother's grave, then we went and had an excellent dinner at Outback where we also received $10 coupons off our next meal there. After we ate, we went over to the mall. I enjoyed spending time with my mama and my aunt. I missed my girls, but at the same time it was nice to be with my mama and not have to get on to my kids every five seconds for trying to run under clothes racks or trying to buy this or that.
Way back in January, when I was still employeed at HMC, they started a program kind of like the biggest loser except they called it Get Fit. For those of us who participated there were door prizes to be given away at the end of the contest which was in April. I won a 3 month gym memebership to the new Silberman's gym in Rock Spring. I am excited and am going to wait to go redeem it until all this studying/ball practice/ball games are over with.
I guess I've goofed off enough now. I should get back to going over the material for my math test tomorrow night in case I have any questions for hubby to answer so that I can maintain high grades in that class. Cya lata!!
Wow, it has been a while since I have blogged Rachel.
I'm excited that today is finally Friday. I thought we were going to have a week-end of nothing to do, but then yesterday they let us know that we have a game this Sat. at Rock Spring at 12. Oh well only one hour out of the entire week end, I guess I can deal with that.
I got to park in our garage last nite! I was so excited. Anthony took a vacation day yesterday, so after sleeping in a little he worked all day on getting the rest of our stuff we had stuck in the garage gone through and took what we didn't need to one of the local care mission stores. When I got home, I immediatly started putting up some of the boxes of things we were keeping and got that all cleaned up. I just threw away several boxes in the dumpster here at work, so I'm all excited about that also.
In just a couple of weeks we are headed for the beach! So....as you can imagine I am very EXCITED about that. And last but not least of all this excitement I have a job interview Monday at 2 that I really hope I get. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
Rachel tagged me, so here goes...

I love both of you gals and I am really glad we got to know each other. You will always be 2 friends that I will always cherish. I miss working with you both and getting to see you almost every day, but I am happy that you both have moved on from here and get to enjoy your jobs now. So this is for you....
Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday to you.....And many more....![]()
Love you,
Donna Sue.
I'm so ready for Friday and for a vacation. I don't know what is up with me lately. I just don't want to work. I am excited about the fact that Ant got an email yesterday from the guy that is buying our house and he said he is going to make paying it off their top priority to pay off our place so we can move on and get the house we are wanting. How cool is that? I'm so excited. We are meeting over there this evening to give it one more look over and be sure that it is the one we want, but we are pretty sure. We have looked at so many lately that I'm going insane in the membrane.![]()
Friends are such a good thing to have. Have I told all of you that? I can't live with out all of you. Now with that being said, this is just a friendly reminder that my birthday is coming up in just 9 short days. We will be celebrating it with any of my friends that want to show up at Ziggy's on Cherokee Blvd. in Chatt town. Hope to see you there. Stoneline will be playing and they are an awesome bunch of guys. And of course all presents are always welcome! Just kidding you, I am happy to just be with all of you and have a fun rocking night.![]()
I recently lost touch with a friend and we have kind of reconnected lately. Not anything like we once where, but still it is nice to be in touch with her. And on that note...remember when I was so excited to have my BFF from Cali back down here to GA. Well guess what? Her husband doesn't like it here so they are moving back out there. He hasn't been able to find a job here and of course you can't make it if you aren't working, so they're going back to Cali, to Cali.....I am sure going to miss her
, though I don't know why, she was working just about the whole time they were here and none of got to see much of her. I hope to get to hang with them at least one more time before they leave us again. I guess I can always look at it as, hey I got a place in Cali to go hang out for a few days, huh? I love ya Susie B.![]()
