The suck is over!!!!!!!
Just rambling about what's going on with me.
Flew back to WA with the puppies. They traveled fairly well. We bought a travel bag and started putting them in it during our drive to VA from TX so they'd get used to it before I took them on the plane. They pretty much fell asleep as soon as the car/plane engine started. They're playing with a toy that Christine gave them. It's a dalmation ball with ears.
Joe and I drove all night to get to my sister's house in Florida. Joe rented a truck in order to take Megan's dresser (she was getting new furniture and he has the rest of the set which matches the dresser). We decided that since we have the truck, we may as well swing by Florida and pick up all the stuff we had sent to Christine from Iraq.
We pulled over at about 2 a.m. to take a nap but the puppies wouldn't stop whining. When we resumed our drive, Joe tried to keep them awake so they would sleep when we got there. He would play with them, telling them it was payback for keeping him awake. It got to the point that no matter what he did, they just wouldn't open their eyes. It was SO funny!!
This picture is of the puppies sleeping on/next to Joe's shoes. Aren't they cute!!
Joe and I arrived at Jeannie's to four little puppies running about. Jeannie went to the Humane Society to look for a new dog for the kids. Their previous dog had died recently and she was looking for a replacement. As soon as she went in, she was asked to foster four puppies that had been dropped off the night before. She was told that they had too many puppies and that they may have to put them down if no one could foster them. Anyway, she agreed and proceeded to try to con us into adopting two of them. I was hesitant because Joe and I were in the process of moving him to VA and didn't think it was a good time...but aren't they cute? You could pretty much tell what the answer ended up being...![]()
The picture is of me and the kids with all the puppies.
I flew back to TX just in time for Joe's birthday. We all (me and Joe, the kids, Jeannie (Joe's ex), Chris (Jeannie's boyfriend), Chris' kids and Jeannie's parents) went to Red Lobster for dinner. A few days later, Joe and I went to Tanglewood Resorts with the kids for a few days. We weren't even in the car before they started fighting!! That should've given us a hint of what a trial this trip was gonna be.
Two days later, Chris' kids joined us. It was eventful...I'm surprised I didn't go stir crazy with four kids. The two blond ones (Joe's kids) were especially a handful. Joe and I pretty much predicted that they'd be this way. They were fighting for their daddy's attention.
Addendum: The picture is of me trying to teach Megan to skip stones.
