Shelz Blog Full Post View | List View

I'm just needing to be heard. Even tho, I'm not sure what I want to say.

More news in the Yahooniverse!

So, I got the notice that Yahoo Photo's is closing up shop. They gave me the option of moving my pics to Flickr or Photobucket or some other places. I chose Flickr.... they said they'd do it all for me... have to go see if they did it yet. It looks like they give you unlimited space in the Yahoo Mail now tho. I reckon it's a fair trade off.

I have downloaded, installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, redownloaded and on and on since I got this 'tupid 'puter. Everything from XP updates, IE7, and even had to get AOL on here for the security proggies. It's still just shuttting down whenever it wants and sometimes when I turn it back on.... it says "no operating system found on any disks".... sometimes it knows it has a cdrom drive, sometimes not.... eeeeegaaaaadss! Making me nuts, that's for sure. I really wish I knew a LOT more about computers.... just being able to navigate the Yahooniverse is just not enough!

that'll do for now.

Howdy

Well, I'm still trying to get this puter to act right. I'm getting a lot of Internet Explorer error shut downs.... not sure what the deal is. I still need to install my digi cam too.

We are busy getting the yard cleaned up and doing trees. I think I'm too old and fat to be a tree worker now. Just a couple of years ago, I was a tree working maniac. But now... whew! The heat is kicking my butt, and the work is mangling my shoulders and back. egads.... lol

that'll do for now!

Scott Baio has a new show....

When I was a teenager, I was totally and fully infatuated with 2 stars.... my walls were papered in pics of Scott Baio and David Lee Roth. I had this one recurring dream that I was at a local park and Scott would be there, and I frantically looked for something to get his autograph on. It usually ended with me finding a dixie cup, tearing it open and as I ran to him, he was gone.

Yep, I loved that boy. Well, now he has a new show... Scott Baio is 45 and still not married. I watched the first episode of it today. I only teared up twice (Scott, I would have married and loved you forever)... which was good, I thought.

He doesn't like being referred to as Chachi, he doesn't like meeting his fans, he has a girlfriend for the past year and a half (depending on when they shot this show), he plays golf with Jason Hervey, smokes cigars, and has finally realized his mortality. I reckon that's it. He said he was afraid he would die alone.... bless his heart.

I'm sharing all of this because, it's on my mind. I realized something too, while I was watching it. I wanted so badly to pick up my phone and call a friend and giggle and chat about seeing Scott now... but there was no one to call. I could have called family, they all know how sprung I was over him, back in the day. But, it's just not the same. I realized that I really don't have many connections in the real world.

I've been offline since right before Mother's Day. You could say that my depression level has increased significantly since then. I'm wondering why I find it so difficult to make friends away from the puter.

Anyway! It's good to be back. Hope to start communicating with you all soon.

Entry for July 12, 2007 I'm Back!

Well, had to turn the new puter in for service and now,,,, it's working. Just got on here tonight for a few minutes. We are having a yard sale tomorrow and saturday. But I will be online catching up on friends, family and surfing, every chance I get for the next few days.

We've been doing pretty well. Working on trees, and the yard... my garden is growing and we have had a few red cherry tomatoes, and plenty of green roma's etc.

I will be hooking up the digi cam... if I can find it! lol

Faux Febreeze Recipe and More!

What an awesome idea! I'll be putting Downy on my shopping list this week. Go here http://www.recipezaar.com/71485 to check it out. Here's what it says...

Faux Febreeze Recipe

Loves2Teach submitted this wonderful Penny Pincher. She says:

"A wonderful dirt cheap alternative to buying a $5 bottle of Febreze. This version is about 5 cents to make and the scent is much nicer too. I use it all the time.

1 1/2-4 tablespoons ultra downy clean breeze fabric softener
25 ounces water
32 ounces spray bottle, new and clean (please don't re-use a cleaning product bottle unless it is an old Febreeze bottle)

Put Downy and water in bottle and spray on furniture, carpeting, pillows, shower curtains -- etc -- To do a fabric test, spray small amount in an area where it cannot be seen.
I never sprayed this on anything white, but I spray it all over my house, once a week. "

The reviews were glowing.... Out of a possible 5 starz...

5 starz "I love this stuff!! I have a 10 month old son with very sensitive skin, so I was afraid to spray this on the carpet being that he crawls. But, it works fabulously everywhere else I use it. It's great in the car, too!!"

5 starz "Fantastic!"

5 starz "Just a FYI, I use this in a different way. If you spray your carpet as you vaccum, the anti-static properties make it easier to get pet hair out of the carpet. The smell is just a bonus! Anyone who has a pet like my sheltie will absolutely love this. "

5 starz "I've been using this for about a week. My couch smells good, but I wanted a little stronger smell, so I put in about 4 tablespoons of Downy in a 32 ounce spray bottle. My house smells fantastic and the cost is outstanding compared to Febreeze. I just used this on white pillowcases, and it didn't stain. And the price can't be beat! I'll be using this from now on instead of expensive Febreeze. Thanks, B!"

I highly recommend RecipeZaar.com. There's more than food here! I have used it many times, and always came away with what I was looking for. You don't have to sign up to peruse the recipes either. I like that part. I was inspired by this recipe and put "scent gel" in the recipezaar search and got this result. http://www.recipezaar.com/recipes.php?q=scent+gel
Play around with the wording yourself. No telling what you'll find.
